Since this world is more than likely some kinda false reality, and some of use probably have bodies in base reality, and most of us want tf outta here, this raises the question:

>Is breaking out of here and back into base reality worth it?

First of all, is it even possible? Maybe we are permanently stuck without outside intervention.

But let us say it is...would you regret it? I know this sounds like glowbot gaslight, but it a legit thing to think about. What if our real bodies are super effed up in real life, and this is a digital escape? What of the world itself is an untenable hellhole with no respite but here? What if we are not human, not even humanoid or something recognizable like in picrel, so waking up would be a nightmare ironically?

Look, I want too wake up too, but I think we should ask ourselves these questions, and think about it. Obviously, we might not have a choice in whether we wake up or not, but still worthwhile imo.

>this is a digital escape
lol
lmao even
so I chose to escape to a life of crippling mental and physical illness, anxiety, depression, loneliness, suicidal thoughts?

Yeah it sounds stupid, but it is a possibility. Real life could very well be much worse than this place. As to why you or I would pick such a crappy sim instead of a cool, chill, or fun one...I have no clue.

Could be that this is the best they could do. Maybe they still needed us to suffer, just less so. Maybe it is a tradeoff of some kinda.

Again, this is just one possibility, it might be totally wrong.

Maybe we were forced into here kicking and screaming as this craphole is the best they could do and is better than the outside world.

Depending on age its probably a bunch of dif layered realities by this point

I will say though- it seems like this reality has removed almost all of the ways to "return" even slightly to ways of lives ive lived in the past...like homes gone, land sold, friends moved on, etc etc
Seems like this reality rewards forward movement the most

>this is the best they could do.
you know that's not true, there are some people who live happy lives, they're healthy, they get to do something they love, etc.
but I don't, and I don't think I'm the only one.
so what gives? some people are born into a nice life and some people get hell? if it was a consequence of our actions in this life, I could accept it, but it's not. you start getting good or bad stuff when you're a child.
so what? reincarnation and karma are real? but how does it make sense to punish or reward a person for what the previous incarnations have done? and does it mean that if we see someone suffer, we should not help them because they deserve it and need to pay their karmic debts?
nothing makes sense.

You’re imagining “base reality” as having the exact same properties as the real world. That’s not how it would work, and I use the word “would” because nothing on this board is even real. Normies seek out false “esoteric knowledge” as a cope.

How about you seek out actual knowledge instead? How about you build something or become something? Is “I’m based as heck in another dimension” really enough to satisfy your human soul? Pull it together.
>>
>>42574936
>What if our real bodies are super effed up in real life
I've seen my real body in visions and it's not fucked up though. If "base reality" is some sort of hellhole I'd still take it, if it means getting to be a beautiful white werefox again.

Don't we wake up when we die?
>>

Okay listen because I'm only going to explain this once.
Given that it is possible to create a simulation similar to Earth or our entire universe within a computer, the likelihood that we are in base reality presently is essentially zero. You should first understand that the spirit is immortal and we forget nothing.
Therefore, this life is in fact our first. Many people claim we reincarnated here, but they ignore a number of important criteria.
First of all, we have no way to verify that history prior to our birth or outside of the present moment actually occurred.
Secondly, I do not believe that it is possible to forget the amount of information necessary to incarnate here after one has already lived a full lifetime. The spirit retains its memories.
The conclusion one would come to at this point would be that, for whatever reason, incarnation on Earth is the first thing a newly sentient being does. Now, when we ask *why* that might be, things become more interesting. The properties of information are such that one's first exposure to pieces of information color one's exposure to subsequent information. You cannot experience something for the first time twice. So while Earth appears to be a terrible place, under this understanding, it is intentionally setting our expectations as low as they could go while teaching us how to relate to other sentient beings properly and without causing harm.
For these reasons and many more, I believe we have good reason to expect a better state of existence outside of this one.

No, normies talk, sound, and think like you.

There is no doubt a lot of fake esoterica, but the school of thought pushed (and with increasing aggression) by the establishment, search engines, etc is most likely to be the normie cope. No one gets called crazy, outcast etc for sounding like you (esp not today), your point of view is celebrated and met with up votes, back slaps and praise for your virtuous adherence to the Truth, whether or not it brings comfort. It is the dreamers who are targeted for ridicule, othering, and - increasingly - open hatred, for saying that there is magic, mystery, and greater meaning in this world.
>>
>>42576479

IDK, I definitely think they can, at least mostly, wipe your mind. Also pretty sure we are in a dreammatrix that is on loop for whatever reason.
>>
>>42576718
Escapist larping into esotericism is absolutely something some normies do. See: the popularity of this board. See: SCP and Backrooms. Are you really going to argue normies are a monolith? Lmao

Also, I find it interesting how offended you are at the prospect of being classified as a normie. That tells me this isn’t about being open-minded for you and is instead about ego.

I genuinely love learning about all of this stuff. I just don’t larp or gaslight myself. I seek truth by carrying healthy skepticism. I celebrate and spread genuine unexplained phenomena, and I “openly hate” slop. I’m intellectually honest with myself.
>>
>>42575088
its all a big cosmic joke and you (all of us) are the butt of it anon
>>
>>42576018

You imagining base reality having the same properties as the simulation/dreammatrix/illusion.

Sure, base reality very well could be different, and most likely is, but it being different does not negate the possibility of it being worse than this dreammatrix.

Like how in The Matrix base reality was much crappier the the probably crappy sim. Of course you can argue that they never truly left the simulation, but this is still an apt surface comparison.
>>
>>42574984
If you believe in all this newspeak, yes, you practically chose it.
>>
>>42578707
That's fair. I don't like the generals (for most part eg succubi, lyrans, etc) for that reason, though I don't know if I would have included the examples you used.

Backrooms:

Everyone has had surreal dreams about backrooms type areas, and/or had instinctive feelings about such places, if they were exposed to them in waking life. I used to walk around the dark, empty hallways of obscure apartments, malls, and office complexes, and had similar thoughts. This is why these settings have often been used in modern horror, the phenomenon itself (at least our perception of it) is organic and there may be reasons for that, beyond "it's a meme".

I had a very strange dream during the lockdowns that started in a mall, and proceeded to a cordoned off, backrooms type area where it felt like an entity contacted me. One can certainly come up with natural explanations for this, but it doesn't mean people should not explore other possibilities.

SCP:

I had to look this up, because I don't come here all the time.

But I have long intuited something along these lines was going on (before even knowing there was wider discussion of it), that there is a government element in wider paranormal phenomenon - beyond ufos, where such is obvious.

But diverging from the assumption that the government element = it's all psyop, which is where that logic usually goes - I have the feeling that if such things are part of this world (as I believe), governments would try their best to control them, like everything else.

I believe there is a program along these lines, but I would imagine this phenomena is largely beyond them. I think that there is good evidence both for a) phenomenon beyond our understanding b) government manipulation running through all these subjects. So, is the existence of a clandestine program attempting to control the phenomena really implausible?
>>
>>42579885
That is where open mindedness comes in. There is undoubtedly an element of ego (insofar as all worldviews are to some extent based in ego - including those centered on honesty, skepticism, etc, the people who shrug and say "it's simply more fun to believe" without caring that they might look foolish are probably the least egoistic).

But in my case, it's simply that I believe there is magic in the world. And that the promotion of philosophical naturalism by our institutions is part of an agenda to sterilize the world of magic, replaced with a void of nihilism - in the manner of the Nothing from the Neverending Story. My belief is that this has a profoundly detrimental impact. So I seek to fight it on every front - thus, I will often be found defending a belief/claim that I wouldn't necessarily stake my life on - but my inclination is always to push back against the people whose inclination is to declare everything debunked, simply because they fear what they don't understand.

*government manipulation and cover-up

>SCP:

>I had to look this up, because I don't come here all the time.

SCP is rather popular, idk how you have not stumbled upon it on YouTube or something.

The mental health industry is a scam. Autism, ADHD are caused by exposure to Mercury in vaccines and the environment
>>

Backrooms is your example of "esoteric knowledge"

Get the fuck off this board, shill
>>
In base reality you have buttholes for teeth.
>>
>>42574936
>digital escape
Surely this reality would be much better than it is then, no? Why would they make it so ass and full of suffering lmao. And why would the outside me not accept death over this shite? I am sure I wouldn't have ever agreed to this tripe.
>>
>>42581038

IDK, I kinda doubt we had a choice, but it is possible. Maybe the dreammatrix was better in the past, and it got corrupted, idk.

We are crystals

I know where you are in base reality.
You don't want to go back there.

We're all on a lower dimensional generation ship.
I have memories from base reality. Really only one, but I can tell you that this is a bazillion times better.
