>What is Mandela Effect?
Statistically abnormal memories of events, peoples, places, and media which have either changed from their original, disappeared entirely, or did not exist initially.

>What is Residue?
Residue are pop-culture references to things which seemingly no longer exist even though the reference relied on the actuality of their being to exist at all.

Many of us used to feel like this before a mandela effect happened to us.

Personal micro mandela effect that happened to me yesterday: I was watching a very old 1929 movie and I heard a piece of dialogue that I found interesting. I listened to it again, and I decided to pick it up because it would fit so perfectly inside a scifi themed goa trance track. I imported the movie in my audio editor, I went at six minutes whatever seconds it was, and... the dialogue was slightly different! What!!??
I listened again. I listened in the video too. The dialogue now really was slightly different, it had about the same meaning but the little part I wanted to sample now didn't make sense anymore for my trance track.
I suppose gods don't like my music.

>>42590497
Fair enough. Anyway they have happened to me, but it never seemed like anything beyond a function of the brain biology as in its ability to categorize things.
For example the namesake occurance; never once was it ever in my mind that Nelson Mandela died in prison. To me, he was always the first black president of south africa. to that end, i question whether anyone would even know who he was if he had died in prison. its like saying the hitler effect, that hitler died in 1925 in prison for the beer hall putsch. in that case no one would know or care who the fuck some random bavarian politician was.
and then, all of the "examples" are the most mundane nonsense on earth such as brand logos and cartoon characters. perhaps that's because its only the simple stuff that gets through the cracks so to speak. but i'm being generous

not everyone is affected by every effect. that's one of the more interesting things to come out of it.

also, people who remember the alternatives are quite often people with abnormally good memories, not bad memories. the people with bad memories don't see anything at all.

The gospel has been mandelad for me 3 times. First I remember a line, "Learn to see with open eyes." They deleted that to shut your eyes.

And when the Jews ask Jesus
>Are you not a lunatic and you have a devil?
He says, I do not have a devil...
So when I had 100% proof of a dark sentence that he's a lunatic, they mandelad it to Are you not a Samaritan?

Tired of their tricks. The last trick is when the Brahman youth asks to follow him and Jesus says sell all you possess, the youth refuses.

In the old version Jesus responds, "What did you not understand."

When I came up with the sentence that Jesus is gloating about taking people's knowledge away, they deleted that line from the Gospel.

Mandela effect is just them editing old shit with AI and making retards buy old shit raising the worth of all old media.

Why does mandela not effect anything new in our memories and only old plausible deniable stuff?
>>
>>42590582
Only because of the higher relational density with lamb in similar configurations

(That’s what all the Mandela effects are, but unsophisticated /x/larpers aren’t ready for real philosophical debates that preclude spoopy esotericism)

>>42590575
Ok but do you see how that can all be easily explained by the faultiness of memory in general and not external CERN shit? also it does not address my point that no one would know who mandela was at all outside of niche south african political enthusiasts if he really did die in prison.

Everyone brings up Berenstein but I have a bit of a weird one:

I don't think it's necessarily CERN fuckery, though it could play a role. I think Mandela effects are more simply understood as evidence of alternate timelines, with different people aligning with different histories. This is not necessarily something that is being imposed onto us as much as it is an innate ability that we all possess. It's just that now with globalization and worldwide communication these things are far more apparent for everyone to notice, whereas before it was far easier to simply deny it as an error of perception.

in some cases I think it's bullshit but in cases like the fruit of the loom cornucopia I think it's genuinely undeniable
the most fucked up thing that ever happened to me was when I watched the movie tombstone one week, heard the line "I'll be your huckleberry", had a friend repeat the line AS IT WAS BEING SAID, and then literally a fucking few days later I saw a thread on /x/ saying there was a mandela effect related to that line, and turns out apparently it was "I'm your huckleberry". there's "oh, maybe pikachu didn't have a black tail tip, I watched that show when I was like 12, I guess I could've forgotten", and then there's "I watched this movie a few days ago and now it's different. what the fuck"
>>
>>42590835
Holy shit, 1 word changed in some literal who movie? must be a global conspiracy
not to be a dick but seriously; is it more believable that it literally changed somehow, or simply your perception was skewed because the human brain is notoriously unreliable?
>>
>>42590864
that it literally changed somehow.
I have an autistic as fuck memory. I don't forget things in a matter of days, I forget things in a span of like 5 years. the line was different literally like 2-3 days after I watched the film, and conveniently there was a thread on /x/ about it at the same time.
I'm not going to call it a "global conspiracy" but I will say that yes, something happened. not sure exactly WHAT happened, but it did happen.

The horseman one is…

The first horseman was “given a bow and told to go and conquer,” which is how people identify it as conquest. Pestilence comes from a later verse where they kill by “war, famine, pestilence, and the wild beasts of the earth.” And the fact that two other horsemen are directly named lead people to call the first one Pestilence.

I’m curious, what was the “Go out and conquer” verse in your timeline?

The "conventional" explanation makes sense for the monopoly man, other stereotypical rich characters who look like him do have monocles, so it makes sense that people's memory would confuse him with them. But cornucopias are not a common item at all, so that one is puzzling.

I do remember the accent but one F not two. I hope they still do those nice spicy orange coffees at Christmas in this universe.
>>
>>42590292
Here's my theory, probably wrong because I was not so good in science, but I'll share it anyway.
Imagine a universe as a two dimensions plan, like a piece of paper. Now Imagine parallel universes one on top of each other like a pack of sheets of paper for your print. Now imagine them very thin like paper but soft like made of jelly. The matter of each plan stays on its own plan as long as everything is still, but if that structure was to be shaken, everything would mix.
Now imagine that some people built a particle collider, and when the particles collide it causes a vibration not in only two dimensions but in three dimensions. The result is that the matter of the plans get mixed, some matter is now on a different parallel plan from where it used to be, a plan that is almost the same but with a few little differences. Now imagine the matter is us and the sheets of paper are universes.
I think this is what happens. Particle colliders cause vibrations in four or five dimensions and so they cause the parallel universes to mix.
>>
>>42592814
someone brought up the idea of two infinite two dimensional planes to me once before.

>Our macro analysis and consciousness is of one who rides on a bed of vibrating discrete spinning marbles. Not really marbles, but vibrations. Paired vibrations. ie, that each vibration is a paring of level and vector. One way to see that is as a pair of 2 dimensional strings or planes, that, in integration, create a spin system as a result of the two integration. One in, one out.

>We sit on one side of those integrated spins, which look like vibration and vector to our macro analysis. The spin pair has an outer surface which is spinning on one direction, the inner, in the opposite direction. Almost in perfect balance, so close, the pairing balance is largely perfect, down to the many billionths of a part.

>But, that our viewpoint of these spin pairings, is of a sympathetic position, meaning a sort of quiet stabilized well, outside of them, offside of them (driven/created by their output and vector), and this becomes our 3d linear unidirectional thermodynamic space.

>Thus, we live in a stabilized sympathetic bubble vector sum space we call our local reality.

>These spin pairings all have different configurations, and those different configurations have different points of integration with our sphere of dimension/reality, and thus creates the various elements, and their aspects. this is how we get to the idea of alkali, acid, mass, conductivity, lattice, mobility, orbitals, orbital layers, and so on.

>Our dimensional condition and position creates ...and is/of the very point in and of geometry.

>Our reality is of geometry, and the connectivity between the 'quanta' is of the differential in vector and rate/change of vector, which implies or creates time and space in the macro whole analysis.
>>
>>42592814
>Imagine a universe as a two dimensions plan, like a piece of paper. Now Imagine parallel universes one on top of each other like a pack of sheets of paper for your print.
I've heard another one but it's like folded pieces of paper curling round and joining onto each other. Anyway it's good to share different theories. We don't know how space is shaped or how it divides and connects between parallel universes, or if they are even as separate as the word parallel suggests. Some day someone is going to theorize the correct thing and I wouldn't be surprised if it happened on a chan.

Hey, that reminds me of something long forgotten. In 2006 we got a laptop. Later we bought a wifi dongle so we could connect it to the internet, because it didn't have wifi. But month later, all of a sudden it had wifi already integrated inside and the wifi dongle was not needed anymore... We thought it just always had wifi and we felt stupid, but it was weird, I had checked, my father and my brother had check, we all were sure it didn't have wifi, now it had and there even was a dedicated button to enable/disable it that we could not have missed.
>>
>>42592843
Same, as a kid in the late 80s / early 90s everybody always talked about global cooling and "We're going toward an ice age". It changed in around 1999 for me, officials and schools started to talk about warming instead. Now they say it always was global warming and global cooling only was a very marginal theory. There was no internet back then, maybe we lived in our own bubble.

One mandela effect that I seem to be the only one to have is the number of continents being eight instead of seven. India and a few others were NOT part of Asia, it was considered a continent between Asia and Europe, but I can't remember its name. China was on the border of Asia, then on its left it was this other continent. I remember having to color each continent in a different color, copying the map from the geography book, and I perfectly remember that China was on the border, then there was that continent with that very big country filling almost all that continent (India), then there was Europe. I still have a hard time accepting calling Indians and Pakis "Asians", it feels so unnatural.

I used to go geography competitions and games as a child/teenager. I have/had pretty autistic levels of detail memorized about the planet’s geography. There isn’t a part of the world I haven’t noticed changes. Frankly, I think the earth is smaller now and landmasses are more squished together, resulting in a majority of changes.

I think I’ll make my own thread about it.

One of the most recent frightening changes is the Strait of Hormuz. I come from a reality where it didn’t exist. Yemen and Oman were toughly the same shape, like twins. The opening to the Persian Gulf was uniformly wide.

I note this change because it means I’ve entered a reality some time in the last few years where WW3 is either a lot more or a lot less likely. I don’t understand geopolitics well enough to know which one it is.

The effect was known to me prior to 2009, its actually called the "Time Shift Effect" Starfire Tor talked about it on Coast to Coast AM long before it was hijacked and renamed as the "Mandela Effect"

Philip K Dick explained the effect in 1977:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQbYiXyRZjM

It may interest you guys to know that there was a site which listed almost 5000 such effects, but apparently the site went down and is inaccessible except with the wayback machine:

I don’t think it only affects American Pop Culture, I think it seems to because we’re on the English Speaking Web where American Pop Culture is dominant.

I bet if you could speak other languages and went on their internets, you could find similar discussions. For example, the Japanese internet has one with Spirited Away where many people remember an ending scene of houses that does not exist.

>For example, the Japanese internet has one with Spirited Away where many people remember an ending scene of houses that does not exist.
Not them. Tell me more.
>>
>>42594028
Basically there’s a “Phantom Ending” that people talked about on Japanese forums that is either lost media or an ME. It’s Chihiro and her family getting into the car, driving past a bunch of houses, then arriving at their home to find the moving truck is already there.

Some sources say it ends there, others say she goes down to a river and meets Haku there.

No you don't, you remember 48.
>>
>>42593962

I don't, sadly. All I remember is thinking it was odd we didn't have a perfect 50.

Its a core memory for me, around middleschool.

Weird. I sort of rememebr that as well. It didn't end when they drove out of the trees. They cleared off the brush etc... then. I also don't remember Haku having green eyes, but can't say.

Here's a quick reality check:

https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/comments/1ti4zbg/what_were_up_against/
>TLDR:

>This planet is Bozrah, not Earth. What's more, you should be warning people about the upcoming "day of vengeance" here on Bozrah. Keep in mind that the 1,000-year Millennial Kingdom will take place on Earth, not on Bozrah. This planet will be destroyed (and Jesus will be the destroyer). It has no future.

>Bozrah is basically a replica of Earth. People who have lived here their entire lives NEED to realize—once and for all—that this celestial body was never Earth, and it never will be. It's an impostor planet. And if you have an issue with that, take it up with God, not me. I just speak the truth (nothing more, nothing less).

>Bozrah's human anatomy is distinct enough from Earth's human anatomy that the differences allow me to know, with 100 percent certainty, that this is a different planet. Not 99.99 percent certainty, but literally 100.00 percent certainty. On top of all of that, the speed of time here is a blazing 50 percent faster compared to Earth! Yes, you read that correctly: fifty percent faster (as in 1.5x speed, and thus a day on this planet is only 16 Earth hours long). So, forget about all of the anatomical differences for just a moment; the time difference ALONE allows me to know, with 100 percent certainty, that this is a different planet. Now, ask yourself the following question: Is God not watching each and every person who tries to debunk these differences?

>You, the Bozrah native, are the one who has been deceived. Not me. God didn't send me to the other side of the Milky Way Galaxy just for you to tell me that I have been deceived. You are the one who was born on an impostor planet. Not me.

Same lol that why I remember
>>
>>42594559
yeah, an engrish title as awkward as "I AM HERO" isn't something you just forget, especially after you saw it thousands of times for years and years because people wouldn't stfu about it

that's how you know the mandela effect is real

Did the night sky converge every fortnight or so?
>>
There was no Big Dipper where I'm from either and it's like Schroedingers Cat you just talk about it and it will be different next week
>>
>>42590582
yes this one hurts me
My own father read me a kids bible storybook, lion and lamb picture in my mind clear as day
now its wolf
>>
- No Big dipper
- Arnold Swartsnegger was President
- Some people where yonger
- Mehnetic Poles that shift once every so often shift all the time (supposed to be a rare event)
- Rare planerary alignments happen all the time
- Tomato used to be a vegetable
- Moon used to go in a hole at night
- Sky used to peel off
- Clouds never used to be flat now they sometimes are
- Silver sky's are more common
- Moon used to be alot bigger near the horizon (it's still bigger)
- Quantum Superposition used to mean multiple states work at once not just could collapse into either
- DBZ had more episodes
- PH level was always 7

There is a heap actually when I think about it
>>
And graphics where better on old games
>>
>>42595044
>Arnie was president

Impossible unless your timeline has different politics or he was born in the US. He was born in Austria and not a natural born citizen so he couldn’t be president. Was there some sort of movement?

>Tomato used to be a vegetable

Still is. Vegetable is a culinary term, not a botanical term. Cucumbers are also vegetables. So are avocados and peppers. A lot of fruits are vegetables.

You eventually died of Hep C now u dont

I even said that used to be the rules and now he's president, it was on google when I typed him in and it was on the radio too

Another thing is I remember thinking the title was a reference to another zombie(vampire mayhaps) film called I Am Legend, but obviously this would not have clicked if it had am 'a' in it.

This. Very common in mandela threads. "Teehee I'll make up BS and see how suggestible they are, maybe a few go along with it and muddy the waters, maybe new people think it's retardedby assocaition, right my fellow /x/ posters? Teeheehheeehheee I'm so cute I'm so clever!"

I recognize this signature instantly these days, and would rather bash them over the head than endure it. Tpoo many people are far too passive and permissive. For every one person who calls these fakes in our midst out, and tells these cocksuckers to fuck off, there are at least 20 who don't.

. Assuming your memory is perfect
. Assuming everbody else's is
. Assuming nobody ever made a mistake recording something
. Assuming nobody ever deliberately changed something
. Every mandingo effect pivots around a minuscule detail shared by 2 nearly identical things (it's never "Tom and Jerry" vs "Tom and Louie" or something clearly and drastically distinct)

>When I was a kid, everyone was worried about "global cooling" and a new ice age happening.
that's not a mandela effect, they genuinely just flip flopped to global warming some time in the late 90s, and now it's hard to find proof of the flip flop because google suppresses it. I have stumbled across several old 80s articles about how a new ice age is upon us in the past though, so I know they exist.
>>
>>42595927
Weird part is I am a zoomie so I remember it was until like 2005 that they flipped completely to 'global warming'.
Also not an ME but I remember a few (obvious in hindsight) psyops that were just crazy looking back. One was when I was in HS with the "kony 2012" thing where I remember in my class it was a massive thing. Like teachers told students to donate, and a bunch of girls became proto social justice types. Then it came out that it was a scam and the creator had an MKUltra style mental breakdown. Bizarre. Also dancing was a big thing they did to bring attention to it - which reminds me of the covid nurses dancing thing. Like a weird synchronicity

Anyway your friends asked me to come talk to people over hear instead of samefaggin in my own posts and I did find out about this at psychiatry and she did have rocks in her teeth and it was a clinical treatment and it is an MK-Ultra one that you can't get from your doctor with your best try and I really did, so when I saw it on Facebook I knew what it was and I posted it on 4chan and I got in a fight with a dickhead and he went and destroyed me to everyone because he didn't believe me and now all his mates are being total pricks
