Society is falling apart because people don't care about shared norms and values and no longer strive towards the highest ideals of love, justice, beauty, intelligence, competence and the like. To perceive oneself as an authority who can shape life however they want has led to rampant narcissism which is the sin of pride. However, for me as a non-christian, I recognize that the pretense of authority for the greater good is the root of all evil. I don't know how to solve it but so far liberalism has not proved to be a solution.
