I grew up here. There is something truly cursed about this place. It's hard to explain but like, something is just off about it. Everyone I know has ghost stories of some sort too.

There's no money flowing in and everyone's leaving. It's the rust belt. Same thing in the south. What's
>Cursed
About it is that all of the jobs that should exist there are instead in other parts of the world done cheaper by dumber people.

https://coalregioncanary.com/2023/10/17/new-philadelphia-murder-investigation-details-revealed/ I used to live in New Philadelphia. Some good people and cheapest rent in the country, but very haunted and lots of drug abuse and hobos in the woods and junkies in the abandoned houses. There was something dark in the woods. Some Kid randomly shot his friends on the mountain overlooking the town from the south about two years ago. The Indians thought Schuylkill county was considered cursed by the Indians, they refused to live there, would only hunt there. At some point the Tuscarora band of Indians were sent there as punishment after losing a war with the Iroquois. Apparently the Land was stalked at night by Missingua, a demon with a deers skull for a head accompanied by ape like servants.

This. If America and Europe reclaimed their industry, this would create cheaper, but high quality domestic products, many work opportunities for people instead of opportunities leading them to alcoholism, drug abuse or self-isolating at home. The greens were always funded by foreign powers to create "green obsession" which in the end is making things worse for everyone. Industry controlled by first world countries would be bound to take proper care of waste, while China shows what happens when you transfer your machines etc there in order to use cheaper workforce - things for the consumer became more expensive, not less, only CEOs and other high position people earn more money. Some places in China are so polluted you can't see the Sun during the day. All that shit goes unfiltered up to the atmosphere and water table, spreading all over the globe.
So much for "green tech" which requires mining for rare metals etc. Some countries still don't have a single nuclear plant, while energy keeps getting more expensive. Countries getting forbidden from using their own, natural riches, forced to buy fucking gas from Russia or the US. It's quite obvious the whole climate talk, which never includes long-term statistics, is engineered to extract as much money from people, both in "green" countries and those where people work for 100$ a month, inhaling poison every day.

the dumbest smart people are from there. once shared a rack with a guy who grew up in rural PA

>fundamentalist christians
>no toilet
>no outhouse
>no electricity until he was a teenager
>bucket with fancy seat in the corner of the garage
>homeschooled
>dinosaurs put there by satan to tempt our faith
>earth is only 10k years old
>man's life is in the field, woman's life is in the home
>certain people have powers given to them by god, like stopping blood and faith healing
>backwoods fundamentalist snake-christians
>leaves PA to be a submarine nuclear reactor operator
>memorized the bible
>memorized apocrypha
>memorized jew books
>memorized 4 encyclopedias worth of submarine tech manuals
>could perform reactor calculations in his head to 4 decimal places using 10 inputs
>virgin and never masturbated until he met a stripper
>never drank until someone gave him a full regular glass of vodka
>told the captain, xo, and engineering officers all to shut up
>was totally right
>moved back innawoods to raise kids with the stripper to live the puritan life
>undefeated in chess and backgammon

turns out his ultra-disciplinarian funamentalist christian parents raised him to be able to believe a lot of stuff at once without any problems like the rest of us. he was able to recite bible verses verbatim at request with zero hesitation. he said they never beat him, its just they didn't have much and always worked the farm.

everyone here is some level of fucked up. most are very intelligent, but none are able to make anything of it. those who are creep me out.
most people I know admit to hearing voices, or they have strange beliefs, or they have a bizarre level of knowledge on seemingly random topics. I know a dozen people that believe in magic. I've met at least 6 people that have admitted to being diagnosed with schizophrenia. I know both multiple neo-nazis and multiple trannies. I know 4 people that have spent their lives in and out of asylums. I know a guy who can recite the entirety of ted kacyznski's manifesto. for a small, isolated area like mine, this shit has to be abnormal.
there's genuinely something in the water around here. that's not a joke to say "wow these people are nuts man", that's a serious assessment. there have been multiple incidents just within the last decade of people in my county being warned not to drink the tapwater by local government's due to chemicals being dumped in it.
whether this shit is paranormal or just a societal consequence of the region's economic decline is anyone's guess.
