We all know the Mandela effect. But what I find more interesting are vivid false memories that happen at the individual level and how. For me my “personal Mandela effects” have been:

>the security cam at the pentagon on 9/11 having one frame with an unmistakable plane in plain view rather than what we actually have
>George Carlin dying of cancer rather than heart failure
>Amy Winehouse dying from a combined cocaine overdose and alcohol poisoning rather than just alcohol poisoning
>Brittany Murphy dying from a combined benzo and opioid overdose rather than the suspicious circumstances that we actually have
>a complete and finished record from a band that sounded identical to linkin park and my middle school classmate claimed was minutes to midnight but was not minutes to midnight at all and some entirely different record altogether and I have not been able to find it since
>Peter Steele dying of a heart attack rather than liver failure
>anti-Arab ZOG propaganda that one of my high school teachers showed me that included some type of weird inverted blood libel against the ishmaelites that I haven’t been able to track down the source of

Some of these are easily explained as me having a trash memory or certain events being misreported. But some like the frame of the 757 smacking into the pentagon is seared into my brain in a way that doesn’t make sense. For years I had thought the “we didn’t catch it on video” was hogwash because of that memory. Turns out, according to people I’ve known who lived in the DMV at that time who remember that day say it sounded like a bomb went off (which is probably what happened). The ZOG propaganda is also very perplexing, especially since I went to a public high school that normally did a good job at teaching Jewish and Arab history. But most of all the bootlegged CD that was not linkin park but sounded identical to linkin park is the one that drives me up the wall because it had some bangers.

Not sure if this counts as Mandela effect or quantum immortality but
>back in January, almost died in a snowy car crash on the highway
>one of those situations where myself and passenger were completely unharmed despite everything else indicating we should have been hurt badly, if not died.
>get home a day late, is what it is. Go to bed
>wake up next morning to make coffee, look out window
>it’s still dark out but there is a bright light in the park/basketball court I can see from the window
>looking closer
>I cannot see the basketball court or park
>there is a building in between my window and the park, obscuring the entire line of site. Bright light is attached to building
>absolutely what the fuck.
>I have lived in this house for almost 15 years now and I stare out at that park while I make coffee. Every morning
>except now I can’t see it and there’s a building
I was ultimately gone for three days so the nice building obviously wasn’t built in only that amount of time. There weren’t any construction indicators or anything. I’ve asked two people about this and they’re not sure about it. They can’t say for sure whether the building has always been there or not.
But it hasn’t always been there. I am 6,000% sure. Looking “through” it was part of my morning routine every single day.
>>
>>42704665
>bright light is attached to the building

Meaning that the light was emanating from the building or that it coming from a source behind, next to, or in front of the building? Because if it was radiating from the building itself, it sounds vaguely similar to the experiences of merkavah mystics.
>>
>>42704718
Heh. My apologies for the poor story telling. The light is an electric lamp attached to the building to keep it slightly lit at night. I just didn’t expect to see anything at all there since usually it was a clear view through to park. At first I thought it was a light in the park, which would have had no source, because the park is what I was used to seeing. Then I realized it did have an electrical source and it was the building which wasn’t there before.

Maybe some type of spacetime distortion? Or maybe a vision of or a prediction of or a revelation about a location from the past?
>>
>>42704730
I guess it could be any of that. Maybe it’s too early but I’ve kinda already filed it away in my mind as “yeah I’ll probably never get a real answer on this stuff lmao”
I can say that the building is certainly material and definitely “there”. I went over to check it out for fresh construction and while I didn’t find any, I guess it confirmed it wasn’t any sort of illusory issue. If there’s any other avenue of investigation I’m missing, I’d certainly be willing to give it a try.

Something similar happened to me when I was a kid. I (almost) drowned at a public pool. Had to be resuscitated by the lifeguard. No NDE or anything like that just lost consciousness and woke up seeing everyone standing around me. Driving home - same route we took to the pool, a route I've rode literally hundreds and hundreds of times -- and an old steel trestle style bridge has been replaced by a concrete bridge (no steel superstructure). It immediately upset me very, very much and i asked my mother "what happened to the bridge?" She had no idea what i was talking about. Said that same bridge had been there since before i was born. Recalling this is really upsetting me all over again. Obviously, an entire bridge was not demolished and replaced in a few hours. So...I have no explanation. I just know that it happened, and to this day, I have absolutely no explanation for it.

I wonder if it’s different universes collapsing in on each other. Or if you actually died but came back in another universe.
>>
>>42705014
Doesn’t it drive you just the slightest bit crazy every time you think of it? Me too, but it’s only been about 6 months so I don’t know if it’ll follow me. I mean, if lots of things were different, I could qt least rest the thought with the quantum immortality idea. But here it’s just one thing. So little that it might not be anything at all…
Anyway I didn’t include this part of the story because I wasn’t even sure anyone would read it:
I was coming back from a big New Year’s party. The party had a fortune teller lady and we stood in line a long time to see her. When I got up to her, she went to do the reading and kind of chuckled. She said the angels would be with me as I drove home and I was like “uhhhh k thanks miss”.

I dont really know. My unifying /x/ theory is just that we are in a simulation. There is some divergence where the NPCs and the physical reality are handled by one mechanism and then other mechanism handles consciousness and true souls. And there are in-built rails such that save states get reverted to in the event of the world being destroyed or just going along a path the creators deep undesirable. And when we revert to save states there appears to be some errors in updating the souls.

Its all very vague but thats what it seems like. For me its "objects in mirror may be closer than they appear". I know for a fact thats what it was when I was a kid. I would read it every single day in the rearview mirror of my moms car when she drove me to school. I have absolute unshakeable certainty.

What do they say now?

>Brittany Murphy dying from a combined benzo and opioid overdose rather than the suspicious circumstances
She did die from opioids but it was also suspicious, both are true so I don't see how it's a false memory. Maybe you just learned more details later.
>>
>>42706978
Objects ARE closer than they appear

which is retarded. As if you had access to my subjective perspective
>>
I will dismiss all the celebrity death ones because the details of their death dont get revealed until quite a while after the death in many cases. So you probably did git misinformation or proceed under an assumption that you later started to believe as fact

the one that gets me because I can't explain it is a "reversion"
>be me little kid at grandparents' eating Froot Loops
>remember all letters of the name being in the same font...no silly cereal pieces for the "O"s
>a few years later, all the "O"s become cereal pieces...kid me is old enough at this point to understand logos change sometimes so think nothing of it
>10-15 years pass and then read something about the Mandela effect...see item of Froot Loops are not Fruit Loops
>think, "da fuck" and loop it up...it's always been "Fruit Loops"
>on and off for the next few years, when walking down the cereal isle at grocery store occasionally do a "man yelling at clouds" thing at the Fruit Loops going on about "how I remember when you were 'Froot'"...at multiple different grocery stores over those years
>either late last year or earlier this year see something talking about the Mandela effect, specifically someone mentioning how it was "Fruit Loops" but now it's "Froot Loops"
>think, "what this shit again?" and look it up...it's always been "Froot Loops" complete with the "O"s being cereal pieces

before this reversion, I thought it was all just bad memory...now I really don't know

My girlfriend is blonde, always has, been (together for 5 years), then a year ago i noticed she had some single dark hair here and there, this weirded me out as i'd have noticed before, she said it was always like that.
It was very weird to me, so for the last year i kept joking that i must have moved to a parallel universe and she was like "i always had some dark hair what are you talking about" ffw to a month ago, she no longer has any dark hair, pure blonde just like when i met her, i asked her if she cut them or something, now she tells me she never had any dark her, so tell her "then why would i joke about it the past year" and she's like "what are you talking about, i never had any dark hair" yea dunno what those cern glowies are doing.

Dang I got one too. At my school there was this dangerously long slide going down a slope next to a even steeper hill side with birch trees on top. During winter they used these big tractors to plow the snow away and these huge snow piles would form eventually. One was next to this steep hill, right next to birch trees. I liked playing around on it. One day they would plow it again and I was on top of it but it crumbled and I fell down behind the tractor. I remember trying to find my backpack from snow while the tractor started backing. Now in place of the birch trees is a parking lot.

>be me
>latin american

There was this red mist creppypasta recreation, in the end there was the classic squidward pic in front of the windows and red eyes, but in the bottom, with shitty generic sony vegas white font with red glow, it had a text saying "you are gonna die"

>broken english
>the most famous recreation was made by a latin dude from mexico

I remember being his original upload because in his chanel there was a second spongebob edit, Patrick was "torturing" Bob (edited from the cold episode)

>I didn't realize what it said because it was in english
>shit bricks at night

Years later I tried to watch it again, after the trollege memes I went back to the youtube chanel for "nostalgia"

>Found the video
>Look at the end
>It isn't there

"...May be a reupload"

>Is not

"I could swear I..."

I remember seeing promos of a show called Castle back in 2005-2006.

Then, several years ago, I found out that this show 'actually' first aired in 2009.

This makes no sense to me as I both remember a totally different layout of my house than it had in 2009. I also just remember the analog to digital thing then.

TBF, I was 3-7, but I still remember tho. Only guess I have is matrix bs or false memories that I was given.

Anon, you can probably dig into the property records and find the exact date of construction, it should be public. I have a gut feeling that you might discover some interesting synchronicities within those records.

This one simply does not make sense.
So - in your original universe - were all the engineers retards, or just the ones that made cars?
WHY would the mirror say "may be"?
In what condition would the mirror NOT have the effect?

I've seen shows promoted daily a whole 6 months before they air. Not 3-4 years, but might make a difference.

No it isnt. No one out there has to put "Physics may work differently for no reason." on anything.

The logic “‘may be’ rolls off the tongue better than ‘are’” that AI gives to explain this example is so weird that it strains belief

I don't consider myself to "possess" any memories, but rather there is the experience of having access to them. Was it "me" who was there, or was it someone else? If I can remember it clearly, was there ever a difference between me and them? If what I'm experiencing now is open to whoever can coexist with my mind, now or ever, the idea of possession seems to disappear. It's a life, a experience, and open to infinite judgement and empathy whether I want it to be so or not.

THIS. I remember this. The real Mandela Effects to me were the ones I personally saw flip-flop:
>Flintstones briefly switched to Flinstones and now its been Flintstones again for years
>Hillary Clinton -> Hilary Clinton -> Hillary. Not sure if it flip-flopped previously but these were ALL from 2015 and 2016.

This one I've never seen anyone post about. Do you remember Virginia Woolfe's last name being written with an e at the end, or without? It's actually Woolf. This fucks with me because I am certain it used to be Woolfe. I have memories of reading her short stories in English class, then later visiting an English literature lecture in college for fun, and in both cases, it was spelled Woolfe on the worksheets, the prof's powerpoint slides, etc. Years later I saw one of her works at the book shop and suddenly, it was Woolf. I asked a buddy of mine, who also remembered it as Woolfe and was confused about the correct spelling. Does anyone else? Are there other famous people's names you were certain had a different spelling?
