In theory Catholicism also states to not be cruel to animals, which one could argue in a strict sense would mean to not mass farm them for food.

However again this might sound higher but is just another form of ego. Any plant suffers as well when you cut it or eat it live. And you suffer from forbidding the body certain foods. You could say that the body wouldn't interfere on your spirit or soul. But then you are back at the point that it doesnt matter what you eat. If you would be at an stage where something like this matters, to consider if what you eat suffered, it wouldn't made a difference if you ate at all. You could just persist on thoughts alone.
