History is the most exciting subject because it is infinitely deeper than any story you can ever make up, it is a story that is unfolding as we speak not just because it is happening now, but because new things are uncovered every day that expand upon the mystery of the past.

I'm sorry that you had a poor history teacher. He failed you. History is our shared story and explains everything about who you are, how you got here, and even why you believe what you believe.

How can you be so sure the books and the people who wrote them are telling the truth? What if history books are full of glaring mistakes and gaping holes, how would you verify? What if they made it up just for shits and giggles?

It's generally pretty easy to spot a made up story compared with a real one. Reality is just so much more complex than our imaginations.
As an experiment, please try writing the lore of a made up continent. Be as detailed as possible. You will never come up with anything nearly as deep as Medieval Europe.

Regarding specific things, there are many things that are incomplete, lies (usually to embellish an individual), and mistakes. That is actually one of many reasons why history is the most interesting subject. There are no more undiscovered islands. But history remains a frontier shrouded in mystery. Each new discovery may put entire period into new light.

I recently wrote a 100 page backstory about a fictional bronze age society and am still disappointed on how surface level it is in comparison to real history.

well there is an old saying that truth will last and falsehood will be discarded but i think there is a little more depth to that statement. truth will only be acknowledged by the chosen and falsehood will be discarded.

i guess in that way history is kind of interesting but in reality with my stimulation dependant brain i really require something more like CIA level surveillance technology with LIVE data

What do you think about Louis XI and the centralization of power under the Valois?
>>
>>42716482
Mine looked like he could crush a highschooler's skull with his hands like in Invincible. He made me his teacher's aid after I passed his class just to chat with me. I never did any work that period.

Unironically an under appreciated time in French history. This period that directly followed the Hundred Years War was the solidification of French nationalism as we understand it today. In much the same way that we credit the Napoleonic era as heralding the blossoming of European nationalism, this is where that nationalism first blossomed.
Mind you, I do not claim that nationalism didn't predate this. But what we understand as the French conception of France blossomed in and around his reign.
Regarding centralization itself as a moral concept, we can see how much better it went for France than the HRE.

Endless opportunities to learn more.
Holding all this information makes me a deeply analytic person and I have more "experience" than many old people.
Furthermore, it just makes me interesting.

>>42716634
I see what you're doing and it's very cringe and speaks poorly of your character.
Once you get your head out of the gutter and touch grass, you won't think about sex the moment you think about children. That's actually exposes how fucked up you've become thanks to being terminally online.
Yes. Children adore me because I shine with an aura of trustworthiness and patience.
