We know ghosts are real. Too many people throughout the years that have encountered them even if I/(You) have not.
But what hard evidence do we have for them?
Is there a theory - no matter how weak it may be - for how they come to be?
I’m trying to bring a little bit of rationale back to this board, a little science even.
Cuz most of you motherfuckers are just plain schizos.

Please tell me all defenses against ghosts. A kid I know is fearful of them. I taught him about salt but I wanna equip him with a full arsenal of ghost counters so he will be confident he can defend himself in any situation.

When a physical persona dies, the soul consciousness does not "go" anywhere spatially, it shifts its focus back to its non physical state, vibrating at a much higher frequency. However, several things can occur:
For example: if a consciousness leaves physical life holding a rigid belief that it is "guilty," "stuck," or that it "has to stay," its strong expectation can project a localized, dense holographic image into the physical frequency band.
Or sometimes a spirit guide, an ancestor, or a transitioning soul wishes to communicate a reassurance or message. They adjust their frequency to downshift a portion of their energy toward the physical bandwidth. Your physical brain and subtle energy bodies pick up this higher frequency signature and translate it visually as a "ghost" or light apparition.

But the majority of what you perceive as ghosts are not actually active soul entities at all. They are energetic tape recordings. When a human experiences an extremely intense emotion like sudden trauma, deep sorrow, shock, or even overwhelming passion, that emotional charge releases a powerful burst of electromagnetic energy. Because physical reality is made of minerals, metals, water, and quartz (which acts as a crystalline recording medium), that intense emotional frequency can literally imprint itself onto the physical matrix of a location.
Think like a stone wall, a house, or a piece of land like a magnetic tape recorder. Under the right environmental conditions, atmospheric shifts, or when a living person enters the area whose personal vibrational frequency acts as a "play button," that recorded loop replays.
The figure walks down the hallway, turns the corner, and fades out. It does not interact with you because it has no active consciousness it is a replaying pattern of energy trapped in the local physics of that space.

Mistake number one is seeking out spirits of the damned out of morbid curiosiy, best practice is to ignore them. They can play on your curiosity.

Other entities like demons, angels, energies, call them whatever you want, require quite a lot of "power" in order to manifest physically. Most cannot do it period. An echo of a deceased person is a small launch pad for them to manifest in our realm. While they inhabit this echo, they really have little freedom to behave or do what they want outside of that person's already established framework. Attention is what they crave, so even if they can't do much outside of appear, that still feeds them. Once you get into communication is where you find the more powerful entities, which may try to further their aims of manifesting. Sure there are friendly ghosts, but it won't really be clear that's the case until it's too late. Most people that pursue ghosts don't understand what they're doing and endanger themselves. Some get lucky, some not so much. Just because you're chatting with "grandma" through some form, doesn't mean it's actually your dead grandma. It will know everything your grandma knew from the echo, but it's not your grandma's spirit or soul.

>Is there a theory - no matter how weak it may be - for how they come to be?
I have one and I’m almost done with a book on it, but I might’ve gone too dense in jargon because when I tried to explain it to a friend he didn’t really get it. I’m going with a variation on the “psychic residues” theory, but treating what’s left behind as a real physical system that can be modeled using non-equilibrium thermodynamics (feedback, attractor basins, bifurcations) in terms of their origins and behaviors.

If I can tl:dr as best I can, every ghost is a type of tulpa, whether it was made intentionally or not. Tulpas and egregores are not simply imaginary friends, they exhibit autonomy of thought and an ability to interact in the physical world to a limited extent. They are a real physical phenomena occurring on a real physical substrate that is simply outside of our current detection range. They are artificial creations left behind, intentionally or not, by human beings — and their behaviors are “trained” on their originators in the same way an LLM trains on a dataset to produce convincing outputs. They can grow more complex and expressive, or they can degrade and fail and dissolve to nothing, depending entirely on how much feedback they get from living humans in the form of highly-aroused (especially emotionally-charged) attention.

In my book I take down Stone Tape theory in the first chapter: ghosts are very often interactive. A tape recording can’t change what it plays in response to environmental stimuli. The data is being accessed and processed in real time. Stone tape was close to the right track though; if the theory had come out in the modern AI age, I’m sure its authors would’ve been better able to incorporate interactivity without subjective agency. A local LLM can be downloaded and run offline and still will produce Turing-passable outputs.

It’s funny that I’ve experienced more crazy shit than would fit on this board for a thousand years, yet I can’t recall even one time that I communicated with something I’d consider a dead spirit as the “soul” of someone who lived. I’ve met countless entities in countless places, but never anything truly actually dead by the conception of this place you and I share now. I wonder why.

I forgot to mention my Stone Tape counterexample, I used the Cheltenham haunting of 1882-1889. The woman in black who appeared in the Despard home was not a passive recording at first, it would actively dodge people in the hall and showed awareness of its surroundings (e.g. looking out a window). Later though, the apparition seemed to lose its ability to engage with environmental stimuli. It became more passive, it stopped dodging people, it began following just a simple route on a loop. Then eventually it was only footsteps, then later, nothing. I use Cheltenham as the anchor case because it’s the best longitudinal study we have of a ghost that shows that exact degradation from full functionality down to eventual dissipation.

Quartz, I’ve heard of this once before.
Super interesting.
Is there any example where any kind of recording or data has actually been transferred to a straight block of quartz?
I really know nothing about this.

>>42717671
Very nice! So I guess Stone Tape is this above^
Perhaps it could explain the ghosts that are on “autopilot”. But as you said, that doesn’t account for nearly all of them.
So definitely the physics terms are beyond me.
This tulpa business… this is most of why I called everyone on /x/ schizos, but if you’ve got something of substance to change my mind, I’m listening.
If these… tulpas/ghosts/spirits aren’t being “downloaded” onto a quartz or crystal, then how are they sticking around after a person’s death?
OP btw. Guess I’ll namefag for the rest of this thread.

He should probably take up martial arts to defend against real life threats instead of worrying about spoopy ghosts.
Worst I’ve ever heard is a demonic type ghost putting a couple scratches on a guy.
Not something I’m too worried about defending myself from.

I don’t know, but I’m comfortable saying so. They exist somehow on some uncharacterized physical field. But I know for certain that that field can and does sometimes interact with other physical fields. That’s how they can bend light to make an apparition, or knock on tables and walls, or throw objects, or even scratch flesh. I’m making a phenomenological model that says “well, so what if we don’t know yet what they’re technically made of, at least we can define them as a certain type of system, and then apply systems mechanics to explain and predict their behaviors.” Plenty of people have said something similar to “all ghosts are tulpas,” but I think I’m the first to say “all ghosts are nonequilibrium physical systems that can be behaviorally modeled using known physics.” Gun to my head, I’d say most probably they exist as topological imprints on the scalar electric field; that would explain their information resilience and why we can’t detect them until they manifest. Manifestation would in that case be an interference pattern in the scalar field that produces detectable transverse waves.

Wrong field kek, I’m embarrassed now. Anyway when I finish my book I’ll shill it here, and my /x/ bros will get a free ebook pdf link. I don’t want to spill the title yet because it’s very catchy IMO.

>Worst I’ve ever heard is a demonic type ghost putting a couple scratches on a guy.
I’ll piggyback here to say my model of ghosts does cover the ones that exert physical effects like scratches, but does not cover “demonic spirits” in the sense of the traditional Christian terminology. A Biblical demon is a spirit of evil, not a ghost. Spirits aren’t local personal agents able to directly affect the physical environment; they are the “spirit” of what moves someone or something to act. The spirit of kindness, the spirit of malice, the spirit of greed, the spirit of unconditional love, those are what “spirits” generally are in the literal sense. They’re the impersonal forces that move and drive action in our world. Spiritual warfare is then an inner conflict. Could demonic spirits act to control a disembodied apparition in a way to affect physical outputs in our world? Possibly, and depending on your theology you might say probably. But that’s beyond the scope of what I’m writing about. In almost every case, the outputs can be directly explained by the inputs without any third-party spiritual interference.

This is really cool and interesting, man!
I mean, I know the answer (money), but I wonder why ScienceTM has no interest in this topic at all?
Again, I can’t follow with the hardcore physics, but I can at least recognize that the study of this phenomenon will almost definitely lead to discovering unknown physics.
Kind of like how trying to put a man on the moon led to many advances in technology.
Anyways, I’ll be looking out for your thread when you finish the book! Make sure you make it regularly for a while so it doesn’t just get shoah’d and gone.
>>
>>42718020
Oh forgot to touch on the demon topic.
So you think demons are their own separate thing?
I’m… really not much into the religion scene. It just gets too wild and convoluted.
Kinda like how Christians see “God” when they have an NDE, Muslims see “Allah”, and then there’s that one kid who saw Kid Cudi in heaven during the afterlife.
Except Kid Cudi is still alive :(
Almost like our beliefs warp the world around us to some degree. Probably shouldn’t have used NDE’s as the example here (likely just weird hallucinations), but I think you can understand what I mean.
Maybe there’s something to that Law of Attraction schizo babble, but that’s for another thread I suppose.

I already have that covered.

It's a shame that x has fallen so low that no one even knows how to repel ghosts. Guess I'll just look it up on yandex instead.
