So I watched the film The Good Shepherd starring Matt Damon directed by Robert DeNiro. Pretty good spy movie about the creation of the CIA. The impetus for letting him join is him playing a girl in a school play and they find it funny, other characters cross-dress for a different joke performance later in the film. What is it with rich WASPs and cross-dressing? They’re obsessed. Is it just a joke to them? Also Matt Damon’s character builds a model ship with a pirate flag, I think connecting Skull and Bones and the early CIA to pirates. Does this stuff originate from pirates? And what IS this weird religion, or tradition, that the ruling class and America itself by extension seem connected to? And why is it so gay? There are multiple closeted gay characters in the movie and Matt Damon is implied to be bisexual. I mean the ritual itself is pretty gay.On the surface level its obviously male bonding, fraternity hazing type stuff. Gotta make sure everybody sticks together and doesn’t rock the boat when you’re a filthy rich cousin-fucking super WASP.
