just finished watching Smile 2. Despite enjoying the first one, I avoided this one because it just seemed like cash grab, but I was pleasantly surprised. It’s actually better than the original. First off, the gore is amazing. Some really gut wrenching stuff (literally lol), lot of good squirts, lots of blood which is always immersive since most wounds in movies don’t bleed as much as they should. It kept my interest the whole way through, and was genuinely unsettling. The jumpscares were really good and kept me at the edge of my seat the whole time, which is hard to do for a person who’s seen a lot of jumpscares in her day! The smiles were as creepy as ever, and it’s a real mindfuck since you never know what is real or what is just an illusion. by the end of the movie you have no idea if the scenes are actually happening or just in her head. the pacing was really good, it’s a long movie but it doesn’t feel long since it keeps your attention throughout. The costumes and choreography in the dances was also really good, but I doubt you boys care about that lol. The songs they made for this movie were genuinely really good, since the main character is a pop star, makeup was also great, both for the gore and just in general.
