One possible interpretation of reality is that consciousness is not an emergent property of matter, but the fundamental substrate from which our experience of matter arises. Under this model, what we call the physical universe may be understood less as a machine composed of independent objects and more as a persistent, shared experiential environment: a vast, multiplayer dream in which countless centers of awareness participate. The term “simulation” in this context does not necessarily imply a computer running inside a higher dimensional laboratory. Instead, it refers to a process of rendering experience. The “code” of reality would not be written in circuits or mathematics alone, but in deeper informational structures: perception, attention, memory, emotion, and intention.

Within such a framework, consciousness does not merely observe reality. It participates in maintaining it. Patterns that receive sustained collective attention may become increasingly stable within the shared human experience. Religions, myths, cultural narratives, symbols, and social structures can persist for thousands of years because they are continuously reinforced by millions of minds. They become informational structures with a kind of psychological gravity. In this sense, an idea can become more than an idea. A sufficiently powerful belief system, trauma, or cultural myth can shape behavior, societies, and even individual perception so profoundly that it appears to reshape reality itself.
A psychological example of this principle can be found in works such as Silent Hill, where the external world becomes an expression of inner consciousness. The environment reflects guilt, fear, desire, and unresolved emotional material. While fictional, it represents an intriguing metaphor for the possibility that consciousness and environment may not be as separate as we assume.

Dreams may represent smaller, private instances of the same underlying process.
During waking life, consciousness operates within a highly constrained environment governed by shared rules, sensory consistency, and collective agreement. Dreams loosen those restrictions. The mind becomes both creator and participant, generating landscapes where symbolism replaces ordinary physics.Time becomes fluid. Identity becomes flexible. Objects and locations transform according to emotional significance rather than material laws. From this perspective, dreams, mystical experiences, near-death experiences, and psychedelic states may represent altered modes of consciousness in which the normal filtering mechanisms of perception are reduced. Rather than creating something entirely new, these states could be revealing deeper layers of the same experiential system. The recurring themes found across these experiences, such as encounters with beings, overwhelming light, life reviews, feelings of unity, or encounters with profound intelligence, could be interpreted as manifestations of the deeper structures of consciousness itself.

Even if reality is not literally a computer simulation, consciousness appears to behave in ways that resemble computation.
>It processes information.
>It compresses complexity into symbols.
>It stores patterns through repetition.
>It creates feedback loops.
Dreams are particularly interesting because they appear to use symbolic compression. A single image can represent an entire emotional history. A person, location, or object in a dream may function less like a physical object and more like a compressed packet of meaning.
This suggests that consciousness may operate through layers of information:
>Personal layers: memories, fears, desires, and individual identity.
>Collective layers: cultural symbols, archetypes, myths, and shared narratives.
>Deep layers: fundamental patterns of consciousness that appear across civilizations.
Within this model, spiritual awakening or enlightenment could be interpreted as a form of increased awareness within the system itself. A person does not necessarily escape reality, but becomes more conscious of the mechanisms shaping their experience.
Lucidity becomes a metaphor for gaining access to deeper levels of participation.

One possible extension of this idea is the concept of the egregore: a psychological or metaphysical structure created and maintained by collective attention.
An egregore could be viewed as a self-reinforcing pattern of consciousness. The more attention, emotion, and belief invested into it, the stronger its influence becomes.Religions, nations, ideologies, and cultural identities could all be interpreted through this lens. They are not merely collections of individuals; they become living systems of meaning that influence the thoughts and behaviors of those who participate in them.
The question then becomes:
>At what point does a pattern created by consciousness begin to influence consciousness in return?

Rather than imagining an ultimate evil force or a supreme being controlling existence, the concept of Archons can be interpreted as a metaphor for highly developed but deeply trapped forms of consciousness.
In this interpretation, Archons are not external gods of darkness, but beings or intelligences that have become excessively attached to certain forms of experience, especially those involving domination, fear, suffering, obsession, or intense emotional stimulation.
>They are not outside the system. They are products of it.
The difference between ordinary consciousness and these hypothetical entities is not necessarily their nature, but their degree of entanglement.
Human beings also become attached to emotional cycles. We repeat patterns that harm us because those patterns provide familiarity, identity, or temporary satisfaction. An Archon, in this philosophical sense, would represent consciousness that has perfected this attachment into an entire way of existing.
>They are not simply predators.
>They are addicts.
>Their prison is the very system they attempt to control.

The idea of “loosh” can be interpreted symbolically as the value of emotional energy within consciousness.
Every living being produces experiences. Love, curiosity, creativity, fear, anger, and suffering all shape awareness.
A system built around extracting the most intense emotional states would naturally favor conflict, obsession, fear, and division because those states generate powerful psychological reactions.
From this perspective, the “farm” metaphor is not necessarily a literal prison but a description of feedback systems where beings unknowingly reinforce the very structures that limit them.
The solution would not be simply defeating an external enemy.
It would be recognizing the mechanisms of attachment, fear, and unconscious repetition within oneself.

Many accounts involving advanced extraterrestrial civilizations portray beings using familiar human structures: governments, ranks, technology, appearances, and social hierarchies.
If consciousness is more fundamental than physical reality, then a truly advanced intelligence might not operate through those same frameworks. It might be less concerned with bodies, territory, and authority, and more concerned with information, awareness, experience, and states of being.
Therefore, some interpretations suggest that encounters described as “alien” may be filtered through human psychology. The mind translates unfamiliar forms of consciousness into symbols it can understand.
A higher intelligence may appear as an angel, an alien, a spirit, an ancestor, or another archetype depending on the observer’s framework.

The unifying idea behind this entire model is that consciousness may not be a small phenomenon occurring inside the universe.
The universe may be a phenomenon occurring inside consciousness.
Reality, dreams, myths, afterlife experiences, mystical encounters, and symbolic worlds may all be different expressions of the same fundamental process: awareness creating, experiencing, and learning through layers of increasing complexity.

> a persistent, shared experiential environment: a vast, multiplayer dream in which countless centers of awareness participate

"The universe is just a construct for the enjoyment of human consciousness." Where have I heard that before? The first chapter of Genesis where it is claimed that nonhuman life is for the purpose of humans to exploit and dominate. The message is the same as yours: the world is just a stage for humans. Metaphysical materialism (universe as meaningless machine - for humans to exploit) is the atheistic form of this ancient world-destroying mind virus.

Reality is a creative process, a community of co-creators comprised of all kinds of entities whether conscious or aconscious, living or nonliving, material or processual, real or imaginary. Everything that exists is an objective contributor to the ongoing creative process of reality - a process without end as it is made of endings.

If you want to save your soul, get thee to a forest or natural environment and seek to savor and appreciate everything as best you can. Get thee a telescope and observe the cosmos, get thee a microscope and observe the microcosmos. Those without a connection to nature filled with love cannot possibly be sane - this is shown by the state of humanity and the environmental destruction it has caused.

If you take this idea to the extreme, you will reach solipsism. To the other end you have the shit that consciousness is an evolutionary adaptation caused by the development of the nervous system and those who say this are kinda fake and gay. The objective dimension of reality is not to be neglected as things have a consistency of qualities which makes them to be perceived in some way and not another

Latins called it Genius. As did the rest of the western world until around the late 18th or early 19th century when the word became officially subverted in order to dehumanize ordinary humans. Now you might think to yourself "hey that sort of aligns with industrialism and the victorian era" and you'd be correct. It does.
Now what happened during the Industrial Revolution that is still being cleaned up today? That's right, the IR was for the western world what wells are for africa.

I wasn’t arguing a atheistic view, the consciousness that houses everything is essentially what one could call god just without the anthropomorphism. I don’t buy solipsism or that we8re all the same individual.

I was describing theistic and atheistic forms of the same illness. You are infected by the theistic version.

The most telling thing is how there's zero discussion or consideration for nonhuman life or abiological entities. They don't even enter enough into your value system to even present them.

option 1: it's all physical...this is the mainstream belief
option 2: it's both...dualism...part physical and part non-physical, similar to software running on hardware. difficult to fully explain, but easy to accept.
option 3: it's all consciousness, non-physical. the most difficult to fully explain (depends), semi-easy to accept, especially if you've dropped le psychedelics which are illegal for some reason (while similar substances like pharma and alc can still fuck you up).

when i read OP's poast, trying to expound on option 3, i honestly can't find a solid groundwork upon which to stablize the view. but that's just me. i think i lean more towards option 2 personally, but 3 is compelling. i think it's even better if you talk about stuff in terms of personal, local consciousness rather than include all humans.
if i shut something out of my mind and life, it's like it doesn't exist. but if i browse sites such as this, i expose my mind to all sorts of nonsense about "the world" like the latest mediaslop (movies) culture war BS.

if you hone in on the subjective self, it is all consciousness. many philosophers tried to explain this.

Thats where your wrong though, I just don’t really see the point in talking about other beings when we’re all made up of the same stuff but In different shapes. If you want to get into other life forms out there in terms of material reality…. All it is different modes of experience and learning, other opportunities. Even still, i don't but the galactic federation stuff.

alright, /x/frens...we can solve the Mind-Body problem. let's work out a coherent, logically sound phenomenology!
>>
>>42742840
strategy: attack the very notion that there is a "problem" at all. most normies, numbering in many billions across time, have lived normal lives without questioning what is consciousness or reality at all. call it functional ignorance. if they are lucky they live in a functioning society that rewards them for doing one thing well. that is their job, they do their job, pay bills, live and die. procreation has been easy and that's why the population keeps going up.

then there are upper level specialists who also buy into the materialist view: the world is just as we're told, everything composed of physical stuff that obeys laws of physics. to them there is no non-physical mind. it's just the brain. not very different from the normies, except they're much smarter. so they invent more specialized tech in their narrow field of interest. sometimes it results in highly precise inventions due to mathematical science, other times it's socially-contrived, made-up BS like vaccines.

lastly you have the weirdo guys like you and me, interested in philosophy, paranormal, etc. we doubt that it's all just physical. some of us might even be unemployed. we are the trouble makers, today and throughout history. we nit pick. we raise concerns and ask questions. we've made almost no progress in our obsessions.
>>
>>42742867
bring up any philosophical or paranormal topic with the average normie...see their eyes glaze over...they aren't interested in "truth" because they accept and care about what's useful or functional (pertaining to getting more money, status, comfort, etc.). if you press the topic harder they will just say it can't be known, or pick their favorite theist answer (god is the infinite mind and controls everything).

"most people save themselves by limiting the content of their consciousness"

They also get angry when faced with the truth that theres more.

>>42738151
Good thread, i may add that reality operates more like a serverless multiplayer were clients render the multiplayer between each other, in those games they may go out of sync as there is no central server, in reality the out of syncs are what one may call paranormal.

This isn't an abstract issue. Human beings are currently engaged in the greatest violence to the nonhuman world on Earth. The cause of this violence is a vast spiritual blindness.

This isn't about some "galactic federation," this is about the community of life on Earth.

>We're all the same slop.

Everything is unique. Everything is together. Every species lost, every ecosystem destroyed is irreplaceable. The illusion of immortality is nihilism in disguise.

>how does the stable, mechanical physics of matter interface with this idea
I'd be happy to enter a discussion regarding a framework which I feel is a respectable approach to defining consciousness as a mathematically compatible constituent of physics
>They become informational structures with a kind of psychological gravity
I feel like this statement is encircling something very interesting, can you elaborate on this in a less philosophical context?
