So wtf are crop circles, anyway? Let's assume that it's not aliens for a second. So who makes them? They're often so detailed, intricate and perfectly-proportioned that it's hard to imagine random farmers would even be capable of it, especially at night without anyone noticing. So if it's not them, then who? And why? And how do they do it without getting caught?
It's the entire phenomenon. Aliens, time travelers, incorporeal entities, etc. They make it using advanced abilities beyond our understanding. They do it to communicate with us in nonthreatening ways. They do it without getting caught because they can be invisible.
