Nowadays as an adult I'll sometimes have a gore image jump into my brain before bed and have to go for a walk or fix a nightcap to clear it out again. Anyways, I think violent schizophrenia is 100% demonic possession. There's always some malign intelligence at work, like how they suddenly "sober up" when they hear police sirens and have the prescience of mind to stab someone totally unaware, like the Greyhound passenger or that Ukrainian girl.
