Anyone remember reading the Artemis Fowl series? I've always been interested in the Fairies in the sense of an advanced society living parallel to humans that is not necessary benevolent nor malevolent towards us. Where can I find more about these types of parallel societies that exist in real life? I am interested in making contact with them, if possible.

i remember one fairie lady was trapped by the human who had to wear mirrored sunglasses because the fairies could mind control humans by looking into their eyes, so she more or less seduced the human into taking off their mirrored glasses and got free

also the fairies had the ability to compress liquids. So you could carry a gallon worth of water in just a small 8oz soda can.

nope, doesn't ring a bell. I only remember that he was richer than a small country and that he'd invented a cube that could do everything
