I've always wondered what are everyone's favorite "conspiracy theories", the ones that are a little obscure or completly unknown, but also plausible. Honestly, I'm curious to read what you believe
My favorite conspiracy theory is that 4chan is full of data gathering three letter agents that glow so bright.
Not actually a theory because its a known fact but virtually nobody knows it.The whole "recycling" thing is bullshit and was in fact created by big petroleum to make people overlook the environmental damage of plastics.It literally takes more energy to recycle tham it creates, its just feel good bullshit.
I can't find the image with the post, but it was something like the following. Decades ago they made predictive software to anticipate the stock market, but it got so good it began to actually manipulate the market before it happened. It wasn't even AI or anything advanced, just something that got out of control. So basically it would predict markets, but this also fed into predicting cultural shifts and trends, eventually actually causing these trends itself. While everyone sees culture as something organic and random, in fact a simple stock market program is causing people to follow what they think is culturally normal. Also, the program is so intertwined with the global economy, they can never turn it off or touch it. Everything would collapse.
