Need some good recommendations on films to watch. A lot of my favorite films have come from /x/. I'll post some too.
I enjoyed the Castle Rock tv series
>>42793337Rosemary's Baby was a great film
peaceful warrior 2006
come true 2020its not jump scare, or gore, its mentally unsettling
>>42793189Wavelength (1983)The Clones (1973)
>>42793189shapeshiters, teleportation, easter eggs, cryptolects, field operations, mysticism, shamanism, and other esoteric subtle elements. if you think the film is slow and boring, it is only because you are.
>>42793444how have i never heard of this. please accept my thanks.
Metropolis (1927)Stargate (1994) and the series SG-1 (mainly s1-6)Phantom of the Paradise (1974)9 (2009)Altered States (1980)Pan’s Labyrinth 2006The Holy Mountain 1973
Jacob's Ladder
>>42793459careful when going into it. there are heaps of hidden clues and conditioning in the film. for example, pay attention to the sound made when water is poured in a glass. also pay attention to the coathooks in the film, and the lighthouse.all elements used to spiritually prepare the shaman assassin to teleport through the spirit world to gain access to his target. all the people he meet on his path are preparing and programming him for that as spirit guides.if you don't know what it all is going into it, you'll think its just a regular thriller film. far from it.
>>42793506fuckin a. thanks anon. no worries, i dont mind slowburn, detail oriented movies. thx.
>>42793444>shapeshitersspoiler- her name is molecules. he first meets her on the train and she delivers an exposition about how>in the future, worn out things will be made whole againand later in the film, she has done so and rearranged her physical form to be that of an old woman. when the shaman sees her, he sees the woman from the train, not an old woman.similarly, the man he meets later has hallucinations and uses that to protect the shaman from unseen forces during the final leg of the mission. each of those characters in the film map to psychopompshttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychopompwhich provide cryptic and mystical direction to the shaman assassin for his journey through the spirit realm. his daily exercises are part of that, practicing how to travel in the spirit realm. sleep deprivation also important.it is criminal how much Jarmusch is ignored for it.
>>42793518watch it through several times. you'll see easter eggs and hints all over.
Better hope that shapeshifters are real, because i cannot accept the idea that every human being is valid and the same value. I have too much trauma
>>42793584>shapeshiftersit is very subtle in the film. also, the clear raincoat worn by criss cross can only protect her, while the clear umbrella carried by cowgirl can protect both her and the shaman. criss cross was supposed to protect the shaman assassin during that leg of his journey, but she betrayed him. the diamond warning was given to him by an older shaman at the airport several days prior.every interaction has a subtext to it, and if you just watch the film at face value, you'll miss the secret messages given to him not just by people, but also the paintings in the museum.for example, during the chapter of the film where he first meets criss cross, he receives that during a waking dream while staring at paintings, all curated specifically for him and his mission by museum staff, and the painting of the naked woman in a clear raincoat. obvious stuff, but less obvious is how criss cross causes the whole mission to get sidetracked.he eventually sees her ghost the night she is murdered for betraying him, and is warned about it when at the cafe at the end when he finds>her diamond in his coffee>her raincoat on the coathooks in the cafe>the same coathooks from the second safe houseetc... at every step and phase of his mission, many of the background people are in fact all agents working to protect him and make him appear to be a common tourist, since the enemy is looking for him. for example, the waiter "protects" him during the meeting with cowgirl, and impresses the shaman greatly. he likes the waiter and trusts him.so much going on and it is all made to be as subtle as possible. the guitar plays only songs of death, and every person killed by its strings are kept in the guitar soul prison, same as the huichole neck mirrors.
>>42793376No way that this Copypaste comes from this movie HAHAHAHAH
>>42793826actually the copypaste precedes the movie, iirc.also, this is a spoiler alert. not cool anon.

The pedo class hates The Captive (2014). I saw it when it came out and I distinctly remember not understanding the poor reviews because it was pretty decent. It all makes sense now.
