If is common then it may be something paranormal.If it happened just now is probably your nails got sharp you moved one close to your arm and this happened, sometimes nails grow with a "corner" and this happens, it doesnt even have to grow long, is nothing crazy

What speaks against it or at least make it questionable is the scratches are often fairly long and deep requiring quite a lot of force as you should notice if you try to replicate it. It also seems to be a common attack from ghosts/spirits in haunted places.
