I like to think of mid and late August as 'Pre-Fall,' or the time to prepare for autumn coziness and spooky season. Think of it like an early celebration. What are do you doing to prepare for fall?

This popped into my head today, it's already coming soon :) this year is special with Halloween on a Saturday night, which won't come again for a while. Just starting to plan, but thinking of hitting up a bunch of haunted houses this year to start.

I did not know that! Time to start making plans.
>>
It's literally the middle of summer rn

Why so harsh to someone you don't even know?

Halloween is still summer innadesert. I miss the brisk fall air and falling maple leaves of the Midwest.

Yep, it won't happen again until 2037. There will be a Friday Halloween in 2031, though.

For autumn, I'm going on the haunted hay ride w/ my sister since I have been on one in 8 years... I'll possibly convince my family to come w/ me to the haunted ship in Duluth. It'll be a fun time being back in the midwest.

I overheard someone say that they feel like July 4th is the end of summer. For reference the first day of summer is June 2, 14 days earlier. I think people are just so disconnected with the patterns of seasons and weather and rain and light that have governed living beings since a billion years due to modern lights and food and climate warmening that they can’t clock anything anymore
>>
>>42803387
I'd say that's kind of dumb- August is basically the equivalent of a Sunday but for summer. September's the true end. However, the whole summerween thing isn't helping. How do you feel about that?
>>
>>42803419
The last of Summer is September 21st so I wouldn’t even say August is the Sunday of Summer, I’d say September is. However the fact that 90% of schools and businesses start their year in early September means that people forget that it’s still hot outside for at least another month. I think people often can’t just appreciate the present moment and are always looking forward or backward and thinking the grass is greener somewhere else
>>
It's so hot and humid I just want summer to end
>>
>>42803462
No one goes by the calendar. Most people stop going to the lake for a swim around early September anyway.
> I think people often can’t just appreciate the present moment and are always looking forward or backward and thinking the grass is greener somewhere else
You're not wrong. I'm definitely more appreciative of the current season since I moved back from the South- down there, it's constantly hot and humid, but up in the Midwest?!? It's fucking awesome, it has made me appreciate what I've lost 8 years ago when I moved.
>>
>>42803218
I'm in Arizona and yeah October is still 90 degrees
>>
>>42803218
I'm glad I moved out of the South and back to the Midwest. I'll never move south again and I'll enjoy every autumn.
>>
I am going to enjoy walking outside as nature changes, trees change and the copper colors.

No, summer peaks around July 10th-15th. Summer really starts around the end of May. It's still summer, but we're heading into fall right now.
>>
>>42803419
I'd say you're kind of dumb. Summer doesn't have to be over right now for it to have already peaked.
>>
>>42803511
Summer is really the worst season. I think that the only reason that some people think that they like it is that they remember having it off from school when they were kids.
>>
>>42802277
Corporations want you to think this also so you spend more money on plastic shit earlier every year, reminder: plastic shit must be cool to be valid, if ur shit is plastic and gay at all then ur fucked and spiritgay

Just enjoy the prospect of autumn and quit being faggy
>>
>>42811432
I'm going to welcome it w/ open arms as soon as the leaves begin to change colors! I've spent a decade in Georgia where the leaves stay the same color, and it was disgusting. Sure, the winters down there were nice, but honestly... I like it here in the Midwest better.

Autumn, embrace me!

>today and tomorrow I have suffer britbong weather at 32 degrees with no air conditioning
Two more days of hell and I believe we'll start cooling down for Autumn. I will never take rain and the cold air for granted ever again.

It's weird that the Halloween general got slid pretty fast this time around, I was looking at it then 12 hours later it's already archived
>>
>>42813921
I would say it's a bit early, but I've seen Halloween threads stay up much longer, much earlier in the year
