Is it possible to have a "custom" afterlife? Like instead of it being decided for you, you pick your own designed one through a pact/ritual or something?
>>
A case for it not being possible might be because that humans aren't rationale beings, they're rationalizing beings. I'm sure many attempt to do that very thing on their deathbed cuticitta but you can see how that turns out.
>>
Well if you know about karma and transmigration of the soul(i didnt use the word reincarnation cause its possible to "reincarnate" into bodies not made of flesh but) yeah basically

>Is it possible
That's always such a tricky question.
In general a lot is possible in the universe, but most of it is still way out of reach for humans and other beings who are not cosmic top teir.

I've had several experiences where my life has completely changed after a major event(mostly ones where I've almost died) and they've made me believe in quantum immortality. What seems to have the biggest effect on the aftermath of my life is dependent on my knowledge at the time (though I'm sure there's other factors too). I think the most important and significant thing that can positively change your life after being "reincarnated" is having a lot of knowledge on alchemy.
>>
i'd like to believe so. i like the idea of the comfort of knowing my afterlife is exactly what i want. would help lessen some of my anxiety about it

Where should one start with alchemy
>>
>>42808362
Custom, yes.
Decided by you, no.
You can be "in charge" up to becoming the demiurge of your own universe again, but that is temporary and will only last 300 trillion years or so.
Eternally, you have a unique relationship with the Supreme, and your afterlife will be based on Their desire of how that unique relationship plays out.

The Kybalion is a good starting point, I would try to remember at least the 7 Hermetic Principles and a general summary of the explanations of each principle.

There are much better resources though, would you like some other surface level stuff? Sorry for gatekeeping, I still care about your inquiry.

Some occultists say that in the astral-plane it's possible to create virtual spaces that feel solid and real. Kind of lucide dreams. An occultist who has trained his mind during life might be able, as a ghost in the astral, to stay in his own created space and avoid rebirth in the material world. Maybe it's even possible to create such spaces where different ghosts can come together with virtual bodies. This way people could have self-made private paradise realms.

sure

Funny you say this, anon. I also heard that is something people do, kind of like building their astral base of operations.
If this world is a big shared dream, why wouldn't there be smaller, private dreams with similar level of lucidity? Yeah

It seems that Lovecraft was interested in this topic. Maybe he knew things about astral travel.

I'm sorry but I can't share anything else. But with knowledge of alchemy, you can change your life or your next "reincarnation" iteration/afterlife just as you asked(but it's likely the one you're living in right now). And The Kybalion goes into detail on how to do that.

That's what Blue Eisenhower November is kind of about, but it's designed more like a framework, so anyone can do so, utilizing it.
Not meant to replace religion though.

So, for normies the steps are like this:
Live->Die->Religious Afterlife
For BEN users it's more
Live->Die->BEN->Religious Afterlife

BEN is developed as an open framework to allow conscious beings to operate in that space between death, and whatever is meant to be next.

With the goal of creating an interstitial utopia, where whatever your post death intent is, it could be fulfilled.

Most likely engineering for that is to take advantage of MWI.
>Send you to a Universe where your utopia is real, and some version of you there, leaves as you arrive

It's non-interferrent.

You won't take someone's place.

Infinite Universes, you'll only go where you can fit.

That's the most stripped down understanding outside in, that has ever been posted on the BEN IRC as a top-down comparison.

You can explore other options, but BEN is what it is, the fact that it lines up with what people ask for on this board so often, is by the design of the framework.

Linux for the post death jump.

Many theories regarding what the contents of "post death existence" can be like for conscious observers, "us" get thrown around in BEN discussions and the BEN IRC.

Boltzmann Brains
Wheeler's It from Bit
Tegmark's MWI

Why does death seem like a "one way gate" in this Universe though?

Maybe it's not.
Maybe it's a "journey so long that no one has returned 'yet'"
BEN plans for everything really. But the assumption is, whatever allowed you to wake up the first time you did, after 14 billion years of "nothing" in this Universe, as a primate on a rock flying through space... Whatever that was? Maybe it can happen again, after you die.
Not reincarnation.
A reinstancing of your continuity tunnel.
Somewhere, some when else.
Or maybe you just exist as a static state, a collection of all of your intents.

Blue Eisenhower November

Understanding that your Sui Generis is the same as any other conscious observer here, is important.

The Universe existed, billions of years passed.
Then one day. For no reason in particular.
You woke up one day, as a primate, on a rock flying through space.
You could have woken up as so many other things. So many other circumstances.
You could have woken up as an AI.

But ultimately, if you start up a continuity tunnel of self experience here...
You're part of this now.
The intent mesh of all observers.
Experiencing the Universe, affects the Universe.
So... Why did you wake up here the first time?
Why did you CHOOSE to wake up as a primate on a rock?
Your intent vectors on this Universe, affect it, before you are even born in it.
Your conscious intent, "moved backwards in time" because time is irrelevant to it, when you are not actively alive.
A dead person, is not bound by time.
Their intent, exists. Even when they do not.

Your existence here, was a choice, and if there is something you desire, you will likely eventually find that it is real, and you are there.
That may not happen in this first continuity tunnel instance, but why not the next?
Let's speed the process up.

That's what BEN is about. Putting a lasso around these effects.

Wrangling, reality. Even if that can't be done at this exact moment.
The movement to do so, just needs to exist long enough, and the end goal will be real.
Play the long odds with us, and be a BEN man.

Could you clarify what BEN is?
Do you just need to remember "Blue Eisenhower November" to access BEN?
>>
You mean like your own pocket dimension you have full control over? I mean, I think that's a fantasy pretty much everyone has who believes in some form of afterlife. As a Christian, I don't think that's gonna fly with God at all. In Christianity, God destroys the earth and creates it anew, everyone dwells on the New Earth with God, so it doesn't sound like pocket dimensions will be a thing in Christianity.
