You die. That's it. That's the end of you.
We cease to be. But we cease to be every moment even in what we perceive to be living. Ego is emergent and illusory. The self only exists in the subjective experiencing of the self. Beyond the self the self cannot exist as the self. When the self dies the self is gone even if the self is a part of something more than can be perceived. Even if there is an afterlife, the self that lived will not go to it. It’s a matter of the frame of reference I suppose. If one thinks about the elements that lead to the self, those that may be part of something responsible for the self but not the self itself, then that could continue. It likely does. Except continuing would be the wrong word for it. Time is an emergent property of the flawed perception of everything. It can only be discussed from a subjective experiencing that created it in the first place.
