Tesla is the example of aa tool.
Tools are extremely good at what they do. It is how they derive value. It's also what they are interested in.
Most other people are apes. Their value is derived by social dominance. The posture and front and fake everything, fake authority, until given real authority, and then they are despots with it, incompetent at best.
And they use the tools of the world, the Tesla.
Edison was a business man traded social currency, stole patents, dealt in subterfuge, concealment, crime - e.g. setting competitors on fire.

Same with JP Morgan. He used Tesla as a tool, but only to his own gain. No interest in using his tool to propel and help humanity leap 100 or 200 years. Never.
And so the cycle goes.
Social dominance creates the most viscous of people, their own competitors, who will rule over them with tyranny and mercilessness.
Tools try to fix everything, but nobody appreciates tools except other tools.
And so we butcher ourselves into oblivion while somehow managing to make any technological prowess at all, let alone what we have now in the first world.
