When did you realise before modern society everyone was just doing fuckloads of magic and manifestations all the time? They would have been collectively seeing pictures move and communicating through a mind-powered internet with black mirrors and communicating with spirits physically.

>>42843208There's a rare lecture of Alan Watts where he says something similar like technology being part of a cycle much like language. Words are clumsy you see, sometimes you understand something immediately and perfectly clear but when asked to describe it you struggle to find the right words. Likewise technology is a clumsy externalization and although I don't remember him saying that for example the technological development of roads leads to teleportation and the technological development of media leads to telepathy, it seems to me that he was making that point.I mention Alan Watts because in many ways what he said is more true now than we said it and we're still regurgitating the same debates he addressed. That's why I find it so fascinating that he said something like that about technology even though I can hardly believe it.
