Your ego is that part of your soul that's often obsessed with the physical world, and you do need to overcome it to progress. So maybe in a sense the ego is your own personal demiurge, I can sort of see that interpretation. But I would more say the ego is your personal archon or your demon, and not the demiurge itself.Ego death is important, obviously.
