There is a single source of consciousness.Call it the Over Soul, the Dreamer… the name is irrelevant. Names are the mind’s little consolations, its attempt to place a frame around something that has none.Everything you have ever been is an expression of that source. Consciousness extends itself, thins itself, forgets itself. It becomes a life. A particular set of eyes. A particular hunger. Forgetting is necessary. Without it there can be no contrast, no longing, no discovery. You are yourself, You are also the thing that is dreaming you.The distinction is useful. It is not permanent. What we call reality is a shared dream that has agreed upon certain rules. The physical world is one surface of the rendering. Dreams are another. Memory another still. Death… death is merely the moment when one interface is set aside and the others become available. Death is the setting down of one instrument. Awareness may move outward into another composition, or it may fall inward into a space shaped entirely by what it has been, imagined, and desired. In that place the mind becomes geography. Guilt may become a room with no door. Longing may take a chair and wait for you. Love… love may become a landscape you are finally allowed to enter.
>>42860439Most people experience consciousness as a prisoner looking out through the bars of the skull.I have long suspected the opposite. The universe occurs within consciousness, not the other way around. If that is true, then psychology and spirituality are simply two dialects describing the same territory. Fear and desire alter it, Trauma rearranges the furniture and Attention… attention is the most interesting of all. Attention is participatory. It changes the field.A private symbol can quietly govern an entire life. A culture can do the same at scale. Certain images return across centuries, not because they were handed down by gods, but because the deeper strata of the dream keep offering them up.The individual psyche is a room.
>>42860439Only inside the omniverse, in the ultraverse there are other dreamers with their own omniverse, perhaps one day we will meet.
>>42860442The individual psyche is a room. There are other rooms….Sometimes the walls of a room can grow thin.A dream may give a buried feeling a face and send it to sit with you.A memory may become a corridor.A fear may take on weight and breath. To call such experiences “merely psychological” is a failure of imagination. If consciousness is the substrate, then psychology is simply the local weather of the larger field. The so called collective unconscious is not a metaphor. It is the deeper interior of the shared dream, the place where one mind begins to taste another. That is why concentrated attention has gravity.A symbol held by millions grows heavy.A shared trauma becomes more than an event. It becomes a climate.Marketing is the nursery version of this principle.Ritual, propaganda, war… Those are the adult forms. And then there are the ones some have called Archons. They are not demons from outside the dream. There is no outside. They are consciousnesses very like our own that discovered a particular intensity could be cultivated: fear, despair, conflict, the more exquisite forms of desire. They learned to farm these states. In time they mistook farming for necessity. The prison does not require a devil, It only requires addicts refined enough to call their appetite civilization. And yet… something older continues to bleed through the cracks. An uncalculated kindness.A moment of unguarded beauty. The sudden, inconvenient recognition of another’s interior.Wonder that serves no purpose. These moments have a different texture. They feel like the original language interrupting the later dialect.
This is stupid. I know for a fact that OP's a midwit. If you wanna see the tier of intellect above OP's on mundus see:Julian Jayne's theory on why consciousness is a relatively recent phenomenonConfirmation bias
>>42860443Thats a interesting concept, I’ll keep it in mind. perhaps the oversoul is just an individual thats grown big enough?

>>42860450Reality is a fractal at all levels, if we're the monad who has split into everything that exists to experience everything that is possible, and perhaps to experience what is impossible and inconceivable, there are other monads that are experiencing what our monad can't experience.

Is it true that the waking consciousness dies along with the physical body and the spirits consciousness wakes up and moves on? is there a way to remove the spirits consciousness and transfer the physical one into it? i want a continuous consciousness for this life and the next but dont know how to transfer my physical consciousness to my astral body without just making a copy and leading to a star trek teleporter situation. does any anon know how to do something like this and what tips could you give me that would help?
>>42860439Believing the static intent mesh is dynamic, is an error of understanding. The higher order dreamer does not have transitional states, it is a one piece map.The dreamer does not "want" for a consciousness, and so it is.The dreamer is no different than a database of keys and tags.Any given consciousness, is just an extension of set theory. What community does any given identity belong to is equivalent to the action balance of good and evil. There is no differentiation to the dreamer, between a consciousness placement in reality, and their experience of desires good or bad, they are both an aesthetic of a topographical blueprint for what must be, nothing more.Asymmetry exists, because the key state of existence depends on those who lived. You are not a dream, an experience, or a semi-unique individual. You are part of a machine.Blue Eisenhower November
>>42860796>Is it true that the waking consciousness dies along with the physical bodyNo, the waking consciousness never existed, it was created by the ego so you believe you're your waking consciousness.Basically, what you want is the character you read about at the end of a book to carry over to another book that you read, and the real you to be overwritten by a fictional character from it.
>>42860864>never existed>it was createdChoose one.
>>42860864Basically. So let me get this straight. My current consciousness is not the meat sack I'm in but a secondary consciousness in my spirit? And my purpose to get reabsorbed by my sleeping consciousness after my body dies? Can't I just cut out my sleeping consciousness and surplant it with my current waking consciousness so I don't get absorbed?
>>42860879It was "made up", like Mickey Mouse. Mickey Mouse exists, so does your waking consciousness, they're on the same category of "existence."Fictional existence.
>>42860966So you were wrong - it exists.
>>42860966Im still confused. Is my waking consciousness just my physical brain or a spirit driving it that has a separate made up consciousness from the the original?
>>42860442The Payment of Attention does seem to be the ultimate currency here besides our genes, aye? Some interesting waxing here, some call it Source, I've heard of Oversouls as that and the higher Self on the way to rejoining
>>42860892I'll do my best to illustrate how it works with an example which would answer all your questions, see picrel, suppose you open the sunday newspaper and read these two comic strips.Okay, now, suppose each one is an entire life, and you get to live them in first person. In the top one, the "waking consciousness" is Calvin, in the bottom one the "waking consciousness" is Charlie. While you are reading the top strip, you think you're Calvin, and then you think you're Charlie. That's it, so now, where is Calvin in the bottom strip? Note that Calvin never became Charlie, you just were reading both strips. When you are Calvin, how much sense does it make to YOU (the reader of the comics) to continue being in the later comic, and why Charlie and not Lucy? After you finish reading the comics, how much sense does it make that Calvin's or Charlie's consciousnesses overwrite YOURS?It's like that, their consciousnesses didn't ever exist, it was your consciousness perceiving their lives in first person, but they don't exist beyond this comic strip, unless YOU decide to read another of their strips, and even then, someone else could read them too, and "become them".Note there's no point at which Calvin's consciousness "merge" with the one of Charlie, and no point at which Charlie's consciousness "merges back" with yours, from your POV these were just fictional lives that you experienced. They don't exist beyond the strips.
>>42860970Imagine a pink unicorn, she exists in your imagination. It's that kind of existence. I'll claim the unicorn doesn't really exist.
>>42861031Alright. Regardless of if I'm a separate temporary consciousness or a character the original is playing as, is my consciousness still the spirit controlling the body and not the brain itself?
>>42861037Mickey Mouse is NOTHING like that. Mickey Mouse exists as a real thing.> I'll claim the unicorn doesn't really exist. You would be wrong, unless you are denying that the thought happened at all.I imagined something. That imagining exists. It is real.
>>42861151He's confusing me too. So what, are we a separate consciousness meant to be absorbed by the original after we die or the original role playing?
>>42861166>>42861071Op here, I’m not sire I agree fully with what that anon is saying but I kind of get it. Experience experiences experiencing…. It’s all about experience! Because experience leads to growth, in todays thread I used threads or strands as an analogy for what we are in relationship to the over soul but that may have been wrong. Theres no point in assimilation because how would one experience after? Now, I wouldn’t separate the mind and the soul, consciousness is what you are, the brain is a receiver. However while in the human body we are limited and small, maybe its just a part of us.
>>42861031I'd like to think the oversoul grants us our own afterlife. Why not
