Your spiritual body is always receiving an influence of heaven and hell. When you drink alcohol (or any other drunk) the inflow from heaven is cut off. This is there is many religious prohibitions and condemnations of alcohol in the Bible and Koran. If you go on a 2 week alcohol bender, your aura gets totally wrecked and looks foul and evil. However the spiritual impacts of alcohol wear off and you recover quite quickly. So mostly alcohol has temporarily effects of shutting out heaven, which allows evil to take hold. However it wears off quite fast - so there isn't really any harm for someone having a few drinks once in a while, but very serious harm can result from those who become alcoholics because they will shut out the light of heaven for prolonged periods and thus become a vessel of evil. For those who observe the Sabbath as a religious observance, and use it as a day of scripture study and prayer, a spirit of holiness is sent on them. For those who use Friday night to get drunk, and spent the time commiting sins when they are drunk, they will block out much of the spiritual light for that week, and block a lot of spiritual growth.
