It creeps me out that no one actually knows what "god" wants to do with us in "heaven" but everyone just takes for granted that you should want to go there.
>>
It's a break room or a green room of sorts. You go there to take a break from reality and reflect on your life. You don't stay there forever, you will go back to a reality eventually.
>>
>>42888928
That's not what religious scripture says. The most specific it gets is that everyone there will be worshiping god for eternity. But it is murky what that actually entails.
>>
>>42888932
If you are going by the Christian kind then yeah, I can't help you.
>>
>>42888970
Even in your version the "real" heaven is still you submitting to some external spiritual authority. For example what if you don't want to come back here? Are you forced?

I think heaven is a nice place to visit but extremely dull and boring. You are "forced" to come back down if you want to continue existing. And you do want to continue existing if you want to battle against the void of nothingness, which in Christian terms what the devil would be.

The longer you put it off, the more you decay and the more you long for said earth. You are just making it more difficult for yourself as your spirit starts to slip.
>>
>>42888988
i think this kind of reasoning is irrelevant or breaks down when u throw time out of the equation because most people are there without physical time once they pass thru for good
>>

because it's archon lies to keep you in the loosh farm

it's great, actually. just bored with it now.

>>
>>42890038
Or, the counterargument, that God is an almighty being of light and theres a synergistic relationship with him in heaven where you feel the highest possible emotions like hope, love, peace, tranquility, and that energy keeps getting emitted from God.

The idea of a loosh farm only applies to this realm, what if God is the answer and heaven really is the place you want to be.

Going to heaven after death isn't biblical other than for Noah and Enoch. The only afterlife in scripture is heaven coming to earth when the dead are resurrected in the end times. Your guys' "faith" is based on shit like Dante's Inferno or newspaper comic strips of pearly gates (which are also not biblical).

The purpose of Heaven:
What you do for the least among you, you do for me.

The idea is to follow the teachings of Jesus so that the kingdom of heaven comes to earth. It's not that the kingdom of heaven is already on earth... heaven literally translates to "sky".

There is a difference in believing in religion and just making things up and believing in that. Religions are supported by physical miracles, evidence of Jesus Christ existing, children remembering past lives, near death experiences, cross-religious comparisons, etc. Then you have people who don't know much, because they're stupid, and think it's all fiction yet they want to believe in a fiction... so they equate belief with believing in something that is fictional -- which includes whatever comes out of their imagination. Which is fine I suppose; however, don't expect to be saved from the abyss or overall nonexistence after death.
>>
>>42888928
And you know this how?
>>
>>42888788
Mark Twain once said, "You go to heaven for the weather, and you go to hell for the company."
>>

>Religions are supported by physical miracles, evidence of Jesus Christ existing, children remembering past lives, near death experiences, cross-religious comparisons, etc.
why would you believe anything in this world of deception? History is falsified for one..
>>
>>42891096
Alright if we're going to use reductio ad absurdum go ahead and don't believe laws or taxes are real. They're just projections in your eyes, man.

Here are the facts about what the Bible teaches on "heaven"

>>
>>42891797
The tldr is that when you die it's lights out and rot until the second coming, after which you may be resurrected to the life of the coming age and live on a renewed earth, under a one world theocracy with Jesus on the throne

Plenty of people know. It's just a matter of if you agree.
So what you mean is YOU dont know.
>what "god" wants to do with us
Play.
You have an eternal, unique relationship with God, and God wants you both to enjoy it.

what exactly does that entail? The only things the bible says about it is that we will be worshiping him
>>

>>42892561
>what exactly does that entail?
Loving service, you doing whatever you can to please God, and God doing whatever She can to please you.
The main difference is God is central, and you are periphery.
But exactly how that service is expressed is the unique part.
But in Vaishnavism it generally is seen as five broad categories called "rasas" or "moods/mellows."
>santa-rasa - peaceful awareness, little to no activity - you are a tree for God and He enjoys the shade you provide
>dasa-rasa - servitude - the general christian understanding of everyone bowing and praising and being in awe
>sakya-rasa - friendship - God is your ride or die bff, the coolest around that all the gang loves to follow, but not a lord. friends can talk shit about each other and challenge and argue
>vatsalya-rasa - parent/mentor/senior - God is your beloved darling that you would do anything for to protect and watch them thrive, included scold them and punish them
>madhurya-rasa - romantic - God is your beloved, often your secret NTR lover

In the last three, it is generally understood that God will "cover" Their Supreme position so that the soul can properly assume an equal or dominant position as needed for the relationship.
Consider what Arjun - who is in the mood of friendship - said upon having the Universal Form revealed to him.
>Thinking of You as my friend, I have rashly addressed You “O Kṛṣṇa,” “O Yādava,” “O my friend,” not knowing Your glories. Please forgive whatever I may have done in madness or in love. I have dishonored You many times, jesting as we relaxed, lay on the same bed, or sat or ate together, sometimes alone and sometimes in front of many friends. O infallible one, please excuse me for all those offenses.

Kek
This is totally obvious from the very first pages of the Bible. He wants us to enjoy existing. The only rule - don't make shit up(=don't eat from the Tree of "Knowledge"). Anyone, anything that interferes with you just ENJOYING EXISTENCE is literally satan's(=enemy) agents.
>>
>>42892612
Sweet, can I leave if I want to?
>>
>>42892637
Yes
1 - do you want to?
2 - you dont need to "leave" anything. You can just re-awaken your relationship and serve God.
>>
>>42892644
>you dont need to "leave" anything. You can just re-awaken your relationship and serve God.
I'm asking can I leave "heaven" and not serve god anymore once I get there, if I want to. Will I be free to leave?
>>
>>42892646
You could.
Do you understand what "not serving god" is?
>>
>>42892632
>live like a boomer in a world run by miserably evil people

>>
>>42892666
>Tell me what you think it is.
A delusion, but one that can be talked about.
Do you want to talk about it as if the mirage is real, or about the effects that produce it?
>How exactly does God benefit
There is no benefit. There is enjoyment.
>>
>>42892675
So what does God enjoy about it? Enjoyment is a benefit btw. Your posts are meaningless word salad. I feel like I'm talking to an LLM
>>
>>42892664
Yeah, like you could change anything with brute force nowadays. It could work mb in 19th century or so(probably not), but definetly not today. The enemy messes with our head and spirit, suggesting us 'conviniences', trying to reprogram us on subconscious level through media nd shiet. There's a strict law on anything you can do against them, and almost every person you know is a sleeping agent of satan who will fuck you up before you even started.
Your very notion of the 'brave and mighty pagans' is created by them, knowinlgy or not, so you could sit all day fantasizing about how you would exterminate all juice in the name of Odin, while completlely forgetting about your spiritual practice, wisdom and inner might. I bet, real pagans, if they somehow appear today, would do nothing you think they will.
The reason for not resisting 'evil' is quite simple - you can't fight it with brute force. 'Evil' is hydra: you cut one head and manymore appear. The only option is try to enjoy the world as it is, touch the grass, contemplate the moving clouds in the sky, feel the glory of the Sun on your skin, and strive for the wisdom of the gods. Don't make shit up. Just be and recieve your deity's glory.

Many religions and afterlives talk about this. Tibetan book of the dead for one and the concept of Samsara. Confessionals are just this concept down here on earth and same thing with silent meditations.

If God himself just cleaned you with his light that would be taking away a learning experience and possible interfere with the concept of free will. You don't actually learn anything and are robbed of yet another journey.
>>
>>42892931
>You don't actually learn anything and are robbed of yet another journey.
Same thing happens with almost every life, though.
It makes no sense that just about every being loses memory of previous lives AND say the important thing is holding on to the experiences of that life.

>He thinks you lose all of your memories.
You forget names but things like your personal tastes and understanding of certain things remain the same. It's just the roles you have to play in your new life that causes you to forget your true self. Your true self is a marble statue, that is why they say suicide is a grave sin, the trauma of it will carry back to you to the next life and start a downward spiral.

Think of it as a refinement process. The loose grains float away while the heavier concepts and understandings still stay in the stream of water. Your golden core. You need this redo so you don't get stuck in a loop and stagnate.

>things like your personal tastes and understanding of certain things remain the same
How do you determine this? What do you know of the average person's previous life that you can make this assesment?
>that causes you to forget your true self
So you DO forget, making the whole "the point is experience" a falsity.
And really, the whole "you keep your personal tastes" doesnt do ANYTHING for "the point is experience." What good is it that I like bananas if I never remember eating one?
>Think of it as a refinement process.
So I have no free will in it. Soul goes in the process and refined soul comes out. No choice at all?
>so you don't get stuck in a loop
So again - no free will to redo anything?
What I want to do the same thing again?
No freedom for that will?
Wouldnt removal of memory make the chance of stagnation much MUCH greater? Why have forgetfulness at all?
What you offer makes no sense.

For your first point, Buddhist monks had a process for this, such as laying out items and materials in front of a child. One of those items out of the dozen is an item from the previous life. If the person selects an item and shows a genuine interest in said item over all else they found the person who was reincarnated. This also applies to other things in life like personal tastes and knowledge.

The second point, you need to read more clearly. You can still remember your true self, it is just shaded from all the roles you play in your current life. Just because "you" don't remember something clearly doesn't mean that your deeper self doesn't remember, like muscle memory for example. People get trained to do certain activities and just do them without realizing it. You also see actors all the time start to become empty people from playing so many roles in their life.

For your third point. You do have a "choice" but not really. You will always want to come back down to earth eventually unless you somehow manage to completely reach true nirvana.

And that's the thing. Your free will is an illusion to an extent. First you need to recognize you are in a loop or being pulled aside by a hungry ghost. Then you need to negotiate with that hungry ghost to slowly change your actions over time until you manage to come out the other end changed.

Think about what I said for a bit.
