I remember distinctly, Milchschnitten being rather long. It's just a cream sandwich btw.It used to be marketed as a healthy snack for kids that play tennis, or something. They actually are low in calories for a sweet of that size. But that's besides the point!I didn't buy them for the better part of a decade.I just got a pack last week, but it was a novelty one with some seasonal filling of exotic fruit jelly, and I noticed that they were quite stubby in appearance. So I got me another pack of just regular ones. And I could not shake the feeling that they are truly less "long" like the long piece in tetris and more like 2 blocks of length.Ferrero claims that they only increased the packaging size resulting in a perception issue of the product being smaller. Here comes the kicker: older reviews show different lengths ranging up to 2-3 inches taller than the length of 8-9cm right now.I have heard of things that get bigger and smaller before, but I don't want to make this a Lewis Carroll Thread!
Now I have to go to the store to buy one of those delicious things, thanks asshole.
Just for the sake of science, i measured it, and it shows up as 9cm. Milchschnitte length by year:2002: ~10 cm2005: ~9 cm2005: ~12 cm (conflicting report)2010: 8.7 cm (actual measured value)2026: ~9 cmWeight stayed at 28 g across the documented years.Manufacturer denies changes in size.I also remember it being ~12cm long, and the wafer being slightly bigger than the cream filling, while now it is flush to the wafer.
>>42897135That's not ME, that's just greed.
I make my own candy like toffee, caramels and I'm looking into asian adzuki bean sweets too that might be a little healthierWhenever I eat store bought chocolate I get skin rashes
>>42897636Probably the lead and cadmium.
>>42897636You should try fruit salad, since, y'know, you are heavily into sugar. You can add yoghurt.
>>42897605But this must be a first, other producers accept the change in size and even advertise the new "cheaper package", or change the package when switching to a cheaper formula. In this one they're lying about the product never being that long? Here in Mexico they put these seals on products, and also removed any mascot that would entice children to buy them.I was always against them, because, how can something have "Excess Sugar" is they don't know how much I'm going to eat? If it comes with 7 packages, would eating 1 would surpass my sugar intake for a day? No? Then I could eat one daily without going over "Excess Sugar", plus, sugar is good for you anyway. But their sales dropped, people wanting healthy food stopped buying those products. They attempted to make healthy versions (they were even allowed to put mascots on them!), but they tasted awful and nobody was buying them either. The only way to increase the sales again was to improve the products, this was specially noticeable for the Choco Milk and CAL-C-TOSE, they had tasted awful for years for their cheaper formulas, it was great to see them return to their good flavors just to stay afloat among these things. It's a very rare case of companies improving their products, turns out all you need is people that stop buying them.
>>42897662Yeah I already eat that every morning
>>42897806I don't support US multinational megacorps like that just out of principle, those things always contain GMOs and who knows what else
>>42897806I wasn't thinking about shrinkflation, since Ferrero claims that nothing changed, only the packaging.Sugar isn't necessary bad, but your insulin reaction and the sugar high and inevitable crash, makes forms of sugar that get absorbed fast slightly more addictive. Similar to actual drugs. Sugar itself isn't that tasty, you would not be able to eat a lot of sugar cubes, but in combination with other substances it becomes nice again, like oil and potatoes (seperated they are both quite bland, combination makes them great).Pretty sure Mascots are little demons summoned by so called cartoonists. How can some lines and squiggles evoke the idea of a friendly tiger, and you need to train hard to be able to do it?
>>42897806>other producers accept the change in sizeSome candy companies think that because you age and get bigger, people wont notice the item shrinking.Cadbury quite deliberately leaned into this, until people brought out some of the older products they weirdly saved. They even had on their website "They're not getting smaller, you're getting bigger."
>>42897135Breaking news: local idiot discovers shrinkflation
>>42898249This./thread
>>42897135congrats OP, you discovered shrinkflation and different verities
>>42898260>Weight stayed at 28 g across the documented years.
>>42897135
>>42898316Yes, we know sherlock. But in OPs case the producer claims to have INCREASED the packaging, to provide an air cushion, while denying that they shrank the product AT ALL.
>>42897135Um
>>42898371you know its-a for the bambinis
>>42897135The real Mandela Effect is it's actually called Milk Slice by Kinder. Mlch-schnitte isn't even a real word
