The guilt is extremely difficult to deal with and can destroy a person. One way out is to commit to not caring, to tell yourself actually you're not suffering from guilt and this won't ruin your life every moment of every day any more, because you're going to decide you don't care. The book Rich Dad Poor Dad touches on this, basically, you have to realize that if you're in a position to scam someone, it's because that someone was looking to be scammed, that's what most donation organizations do (famously, wikipedia, which begs for money, the it turns out they needed 2000000 for their vacations.)
Those people are going to give the money to some random scammer, or they're going to give it to you.
It's not "I'm going to be good and let them keep their money", because the scenario where they keep their money doesn't exist.
If you can't be good, you can't be evil, you take the money and make sure the world is a better place than if they lost it to someone else, and over time, wealth accumulates and more opportunities arise, because the money that was going to go elsewhere ends in your hands.
And that's how you become elite.

It is easier to be evil because it is easier to destroy than to build.

It is easier to bullshit than to tell the truth because the truth demands costly investigation into the truth of a matter, while bullshit only has to produce the illusion of having done such an investigation or authority. Bad information cloaks itself as good and benefits from not having to do any of the actual work.

Look at any lush ecosystem such as a healthy forest or wetlands and you will see an abundance of mutualistic goodness and thriving that is the result of many individual organisms filling nutrient cycles and niches that creates a thriving for all. Yes there is predation, parasitism, and destruction, but in ecosystems the balance of life is towards goodness and mutual thriving necessarily because if they can't achieve this they would collapse in on themselves. There is a legitimate trend towards mutual existence caused by pressure on ecosystems to find it.

You look at the human world and it is largely parasitic on nonhuman ecosystems. But it doesn't need to be, and it must change or else it will collapse in on itself - and even if it does whatever follows must be grounded in environmental harmony.
