What’s a spell or ceremony to “bring back” a lost pet? I buried his body in the garden and created a shrine. I’m looking to bring back a reincarnation or similar dog.

No thank you. I was more hoping I could attract the same type of dog in my life. I’ll just leave the little guy buried in my garden with the note I wrote

Dipshit hylic, think about the best memories with your pet, and appreciate every moment, and whatever comes after. The time, and memories are precious precisely because we don't get enough of either.

The silver thread cannot be restored, so you need to decide whether you are raising the flesh, or you seek to commune with the spirit. Either way can have pretty devastating results. There is a reason people say it is better for the dead to rest.

Grab a bit of his cellular material if you have it.
Clone him
You've now got a clone of your dog.

I have done this with my own pets all the time, death is only an issue if you allow it to be. I'm on my third clone of my beloved cat. If I wish to look at things physically, yes, it is the same cat; however no, each instance of the cat that I raised was their own individual person with their own personality. His first instance was svelt, adventurous and not afraid of lightning. His second iteration was quite chonky, terrified of lightning and a scaredy cat. The current iteration seems to not have a single thought in his head, gets angry at steps, and barks at moths. not meows, but rather barks in funny cat barks.

In that, it is very easy, silly easy to get the same pet back, as per genetic physiologies go; however, as time proceeds, the cat born from the same culture gains its own perspective that defines that deviation/branch. Sadly, when they die, that personality, that story of them goes with them, but remains in your heart.

The same can be said of Humans, and I am very much waiting for a loved one to die so I can repeat the same experiment and see how it works similarly. What I expect is to see an identical twin of my loved one, with none of their memories, with none of their personality traits, yet wearing the face and being genomically identical to the person who died.

I was on MDMA and LSD when I bought a new puppy and I saw the ghost of my dog from childhood appear, walk into the same spot as my new puppy, and the ghost shrank to puppy. I guess they are man's best friend because their spirits follow you from one dog to another

Also I am being deadly serious. I specifically support and invest in biotech specifically to do the exact "magics" that you romanticize because I can and no one has disallowed me from doing this. I have cloned many animals, and soon, one of my investments will bring the return of dodos. When one of my loved ones die, or I die, I plan on running the experiment on them or myself because no one will disallow me. WHen it comes to me, I'm also to provide my inheritor with a backup bootdrive of me to review and learn about in the form of my memoirs, and hopefully, if things don't go to shit in the next twenty years with a proper data remnant of my consciousness. to serve as both steward and archive. Regardless, even if things go to shit, my inheritor, my wonderful me who is me, but not me, will have quite the grand memoir to read of the man that he once was, whether he wishes to be a continuation of that man, or his own, is wholly up to him, and I hope for his continuation, he finishes up my work, and does similar for his own continuation so that we eventually solve the problem of lost unique subjective viewer in Death.

Death is semi subjective in the modern age and I believe Death can be made totally subjective in the future, even wholly optional.

And no one will actually stop me from doing this, because no one has stepped in and said "Don't do this." It's quite frightening honestly, I am telling my investors, and my people to their face "I am spitting in the face of Death" and they are like "We know. Keep doing it." "I plan on doing this to Humans." "We know, proceed."

it is very strange, it is as if these people do not have ethics whatsoever, if I wanted to create a Tyrant Bio-weapon, they'd have little complaint in that. Then again, I suppose that is South Koreans for you, although I do not understand why they called me Sir Curien, that bit escapes me, but I suppose that is not for me to understand. There are no limits my friends.
