You know I always found the extremely violent and ill-tempered descriptions of the Old Testament God to be very romantic, life is cruel is hard and shit, people die horrific deaths for no reason but there is a light and warmth to it all if you look to it all - and when you lose faith in that warmth the disappointment betrays you more deeply than the hail ever will. The warmth of Isreal was never divine protection from the sufferings life, but the peace in understanding the unity of all, once this peace is lost you are subject to all the pain and personal losses that life will provide - therefore you die over and over again But God is neither good or bad, God is everything, and you could say God is pure good but not in a way that aligns with any sort of human morality or understanding of what good is. What is good is for us to create, for God creates itself through us.
