You know I always found the extremely violent and ill-tempered descriptions of the Old Testament God to be very romantic, life is cruel is hard and shit, people die horrific deaths for no reason but there is a light and warmth to it all if you look to it all - and when you lose faith in that warmth the disappointment betrays you more deeply than the hail ever will. The warmth of Isreal was never divine protection from the sufferings life, but the peace in understanding the unity of all, once this peace is lost you are subject to all the pain and personal losses that life will provide - therefore you die over and over again

But God is neither good or bad, God is everything, and you could say God is pure good but not in a way that aligns with any sort of human morality or understanding of what good is. What is good is for us to create, for God creates itself through us.

I don’t really fucking care about separating abrahamic religion as a thing different from other religions, Shiva and YHVH are one of the same. In fact You Shall Worship No Gods before me doesn’t in fact just refer to only worshiping YHVH, it’s a call to recognise the unity of all being in all things

>light and warmth to it all

“The Lord said to Moses: ‘Consecrate to me every being that first opens the womb among the Israelites; every firstborn of men or animals belongs to me’” (Ex 13:1).

“Moses reminded the Israelites: ‘You shall set apart for Yahweh every first issue of the womb...’” (Ex 13:12).

“The firstborn of your sons you shall give to me... seven days it shall remain with its mother, on the eighth day you shall give it to me” (Ex 22:28).

“Then I gave them statutes that were not good and ordinances by which they could not live... making every firstborn pass through the fire, that I might horrify them, so that they might know that I am Yahweh” (Ez 20:25).

Did anything I say imply that I take any of this literally? The entire Old Testament is a story of evolution, and the violent mechanisms of the universe that ensures that evolution

You know if you don’t vibe with abrahamic religion and the way it represents things you could just focus on the spiritual traditions that you do like, gain knowledge and growth from what compels you but having a hissy fit over something that isn’t right for you isn’t going to help you.

Yes the Old Testament God is represented as a dick, but look at life and the world we live in - is it not honest?

Also don’t take that evolution to mean that Jews are literally the chosen people and ultimate eugenically supreme race, Isreal has nothing to do with any human ethnicity, nation or identity. In fact, Isreal and Babylon (shocker) are one and the same. The Babylon that is represented as this evil empire is in fact a representation of the Divine Feminine, and Isreal who is represented an enemy of this empire is in fact Her daughter and Her birthing Herself. The process of dialectism is important here, and the unity of opposites.

The wheel churns.

>Another post conflating El with YHWH
Purposefully mistranslated bibles gave entire generations of Christians brain damage. Then there's the proto-germanic word 'hell' replacing sheol, gehenna, and tartarus (three completely different places/words).

I mean yeah I know of the history, but the genesis that we have today isn’t even that old though it comes from previous sources and orals tales. El and YHVH were purposefully conflated, that’s the point, you know when monotheism became a thing. Even Asherah was conflated into YHVH. The entire point is the Unity

>old t gawd is everything
Was it though?

>the oldest word in the Bible rendered as “God” does not, in fact, mean “God,” nor anything like it. The word in question, elohim, is a masculine plural form – a word which at root means “the powerful ones”

>biblical Hebrew there is no term meaning “God” in the commonly accepted sense of a transcendent spiritual being, omnipresent, omniscient, omnipotent.

Just an evil low level elohim

Anon, if the God of the Old Testament is referred to by a word connotating the plurality of divinity (yes, Israelite religion was originally polytheistic but that is irrelevant since the usages of the pluralistic word is taken to refer to the God of the Old Testament), how does that contradict the idea that God is everything?
