As someone who lives in Paris there isn't a lot of paranormal shit going down there in the common sense of the word. You can make strange encounters since people that are willing to often go there usually are not normies and I'm sure there have been occult rituals or things attempted here but it's less impressive than what you'd think.You can go there pretty easily as there are a lot of entrances in the city. Of course there are also guided tours in selected safe areas. Most of the catacombs aren't filled with skeletons. Some parts are filled with water up to the hips though and it's really messy. Other parts are very tiny and you can get stuck easily if you're not careful, so it's advised to be guided by someone who knows their way, you can get lost easily too. People who go there often are called "cataphiles". They range from curious people, urbex enthusiasts, marginals, druggies and party-people, street artists, and there used to be neo-nazi or other violent groups of guys who liked the free-for-all lawless feeling of the place. There are full rooms who are decorated with sculptures and frescoes/graffitis, but I think that with social medias and accessible plans a lot of the mystic of the place has disappeared.The police comes often to ensure that noobs don't get lost and that there isn't too much parties going on. It is forbidden to be there out of the guided tours so if you get caught you get fined, therefore it's a constant cat-and-mouse game with the "cataflics", police of the catacombs.

Similar rules now exist across Europe. For an example, I read the rules on this very old cemetery nearby. It says everyone that gets interred has "their place" valid for 20 years, longer if the families keep paying for the space and upkeep. Yes, it's a Catholic cemetery. Anyway, what is really amazing is that they estimated there are bones from 6 million people. This really puts into perspective how long people lived in Paris and peripheries. Imagine how insanely big the cemeteries were. Anyway, that's how you get clean (but not sparkling white) bones that now rest underground. According to Americans who lose their shit and suspect ghosts in every place where somebody died, then Paris or places like Central Europe where so many battles took place, should be haunted beyond all imagination. There should be an entire metropolis of ghosts every 100 km.
