There's too much information here to lay it down on 4chan, but the general gist is: Total Skeptic Victory. There is no reason to subscribe to Catholicism because of this supposed miracle. Lucia, the main girl, lied constantly in her adulthood, and later claimed that she was supposedly given a secret prophecy about Second World War by Mary in 1917 - in truth, she only began talking about it from 1927 and she clearly indicates it was received through prayer. Moreover, she quite clearly stated the First World war would have ended on Oct. 11 1917 - it didn't, and claims on conditionality only appeared later.

Of course it wasn't. It's just that Church has decided this one has strong potential for propagation. Vatican is swamped by "miracle" reports every year. However, the first stage is local Archbishop. Only they decide if some report is worth checking out and they send info to Vatican. Then, they send one of their civil investigators to check all information on site, without having people pay too much attention to him (traditionally posing as journalists, but not only). Then, the central analyzes everything and decides if it deserves Pope's attention.
I remember a fairly similar case, where two women, who were suspected to be lesbians but never officially confirmed it, claimed they were on a trip in the Versailles and got temporarily "phased" into the past, where everyone appeared in black-and-white, apparently the times when the monarchy was still strong in France. Again, what is most interesting to me, is the typical, to the point of stereotype, appearance of the couple - one of them was clearly the dominant one, went with that story (she was also found to have a bad habit to lie through her teeth and make up stuff before this, supposed, "time travel incident"), while the second one was quiet and very submissive, would always say and do everything the other woman did, but would show clear signs of being uncomfortable with the attention "their" story brought them.
Returning back to Fatima, it's the same situation, where one of the sisters was clearly the dominant personality, while the rest just went along with everything their older sister said (as was the custom back then - if your parents aren't around, you NEED to listen to your older brother/sister).

>t. raised Catholic, but believing only in God, not human-led institutions that claim the right to "representing God", are you fucking serious?

Oh, and I must add - you probably noticed most of these "miraculous" stories come from women that, normally, you would deem insane on the first meeting. Never trust women. If you had a loving mother, then it's the closest to "unconditional love" you'll ever get from a woman. If you're married with a good woman, then do take care of her and your relationship, especially when you have kids. They need a good childhood to choose right themselves in the future. If you're with a bitch, do take precautions and leave as soon as possible, after having a good feel for what she might be capable of. Crazy bitches can ruin your life just out of spite, that's why there's an old saying "Hell hath no fury as a woman scorned".
Why am I talking about it in Fatima thread? To show how far, just one crazy bitch, can go with her story. If they can convince people of miracles, is it hard to convince them of you being an abusive rapist that threatened her into silence?

Isn't this meant to be the angel that preceded the Mary apparitions? IIRC the angel appeared to the children first, and was the one that instructed them to return to the same place for the later apparitions. I wish people would talk about it more, since even in the miracle of the Sun there are accounts IIRC of different 'forms' of Mary appearing in the sky after the main Sun event.

As far as I recall, Lucia, the only one to survive into adulthood, claimed years later that they were visited by an angel in 1916.
