/x/ anons, I need your advice. I have found a magical talisman of some sort and I am unsure how to proceed with it. I have found a jar on the river bank with some folded paper in it. I thought it was some kind of bottle letter children throw in the sea or a river, so I opened it for my amusement before checking it further. However, inside were also nails, needles, and a substance which I think is salt. The paper was the photo of a woman.From the little what I know, these seems to be a talisman of protection, although I do not know if its supposed to protect the woman on the photo, or protect someone from this woman. I also do not know why someone threw it in the river.The object seems to be harmless, but it is magic nonetheless, so I want to destroy it so no normie stumbles over it. I did not want to bring it home, so hid it by the river, therefore, no picture. I also banished with the lesser pentagram and hexagram as soon as I came home, just to be sure.My idea was just to disassemble it and throw the contents in the trash, and to burn the picture for good measure. Is this a good idea, or should I de-consecrate it somehow? I think its unwise to let it lie around outside, whatever it is. I am not LARping, so please give non-LARP advice
Generally, it’s a very common ritual for magic users to curse someone by putting their image, an object of theirs, nails, and other items in a body of water. I would not think the necklace itself is a magical item, but rather just used in this curse of this woman. My recommendation to you is to throw the items away separately, including the necklace. Cleanse your space and pray for protection after.

I’d be really bummed if a fellow sensitive came across my project and dismantled it when I was already confident I had it hidden far enough away from normies to not be an issue. That said, I can also say that you would not have found something like that of mine unless you were specifically looking for it. Since there is some sophistication to it and it is not a seething curse, I’d also assume this person knew what they were doing to a solid degree. I’m also more apt to leave something if it looks like the person knew what they were doing. If somebody looks like a novice who dove into some shit they clearly do not understand, then maybe I’d take the time to fix it.Are you experienced with magical objects and destroying them otherwise? If not, this item is representative of a relationship between two people, whether protective or a curse. Getting yourself involved when the object wasn’t dangerous to begin with might be a truly worse decision than just doing nothing.
>>42935847To expand on that a bit, for if you insist on doing something because reason, I’d personally seal it (fully seal it, as in more than just physically) and then keep it. You seal it properly and then it’ll be inert as long as your seal stands no matter what it did. Then you can hang on to it. Maybe unseal it later to use its energy for some other project of yours. If you’re looking for a way to get some experience, I guess this would be one way to do it.

And if I put it back, probably some other guy will find it and be bothered by it, its a very small and shallow river. It was only my initial guess that the object is harmless because I read somewhere that salt and a nail are the ingredients for a protective amulett. If it carries a curse, then its not really harmless. Even if it does no magic harm to others, the jar might break and scatter shards and nails.I do not have experience with destroying such objects, and I do not know how to magically isolate it either. Relatively new to such things. If you can direct me to a source that explains it, i will consider it.

Keep and eye out for anything unusual but it’s unlikely for anything to have followed you from a petty ritual. We don’t necessarily KNOW it was petty but it seems so. Any unusual paranormal activity or highly unusual emotional responses in yourself or people around you would be suspect but it’s unlikely. I’d burn everything that could be burned, [safely] crush the bottle and just throw away, bend any nails to make them useless as nails, and deface the currency somehow. Maybe just clip the coin with wire cutters or whatever. Then cleanse when you get home. That’s how I’d destroy it thoroughly.

It doesn’t have to look super specific, just represent a person>put the tiny human shaped vessel into the bottle with everything else>at this point, the bottle is now a physical prison for that contained in your added vessel>tightly seal the bottle physically speaking. Twist it shut tight.>add a spiritual barrier. Tying it closed with a silver chain would be very effective. You could also attach a sigil of your own design for the seal. Probably not dangerous enough to need both.
