What should one do when they have given magic an honest effort and nothing seems to produce any results at all whatsoever?
>>42933672Congratulations. You're a normal person who has accepted reality for what it is.
>>42933672accept reality and get an adult job
>>42933672psychedelics or give up get a job go to church become normal
>>42933672What should a baby do when he honestly tried to stand but fell on his ass? What should a child do when he honestly tried to learn to ride a bicycle but fell? What should a teenager do when he honestly tried to play guitar but it didn't produce the expected result?See what I mean? Keep trying!
>>42933711Nah magic isnt real now get back to your cubeobeying my commands on your thinking rock
>>42933672All real 'magic' is mundane activities layered with social engineering and information/perception control. It won't be magic to the user, but it will be magic to the target and possibly any bystanders/observers. What differentiates 'magic' from any other method of interacting with reality? Lack of understanding and perception of the underlying mechanisms.
>>42933745This anon's got it. Anything you call magic, if you were to eventually do it, would mean that once you start measuring it, studying it, and reverse-engineering it, it no longer becomes magic.People used to think hypnosis was magic, but then marketing agencies did a fuck ton of studies and found that you can induce what's called "Consent to Hypnosis" because turns out consenting is the only way to really make it work. And then you find out all religions utilize the same "magic" tools through daily prayers etc. to get you into the mood to let god enter your brain hole yada yada. Now if you really want to play with fire and try real magic, i.e. something we haven't fully tested or fully understand the potential of yet, then try improving your mind's ability to compartmentalize. The better at compartmentalization you get and the more boxes you organize your mind into, the easier it becomes to balance and dive into multiple boxes. This allows you to use more of your brain more often. Eventually if you get good enough at it, you can basically utilize most of if not all of your brain at once. This can lead to you being able to see or feel or do things that some lesser trained minds would call unnatural, but ultimately is just a threshold of mental control being crossed that they haven't reached yet (and that they probably won't if they're adverse to weight training their intelligence).User results may vary, but ultimately you'll improve all of your 5 senses to the point where you might even feel like you've gained a 6th sense just from the sheer net multiplicative boon of all your senses compounding together. But science still can't properly diagnose or perceive all the underlying mechanisms associated with that much awareness and brainpower being utilized simultaneously. So there's your next step of evolution and "magic" if you will. Have fun because one day even that will be properly studied. Until then, show people what magic looks like.
>>42933745unenlightened retard giving the most pedestrian pleb opinion possible
>>42933879But he's right on some level. You're just stuck on the initial packaging he gave it to you, and it's definitely lacking refinement and elegance. But there's always a breadcrumb trail to everything, even if you don't see or measure it yet. One's perception of magic also changes with who's perspective it's being looked at from. It seems you're the real pleb here, most likely.
>>42933672What kind of magic did you try OP?
>>42933879seething
>>42933891Another unwashed sewer person giving me the default materialism position. Did you think you were super smart because you have the opinion of 99% of NPCs?I can just open up reddit to get the same opinion you have.

Hey, it is Mr. D.
>>42934030I basically did everything that I could imagine would work. I made a recording of my own voice telling me thing and then I would goon and listen to it for at least 30 minutes before cumming on a sigil I drew with my own blood. I tried smoking weed to make this better. I did it by candle light. I tried making pacts with angels and demons too. I did a 7 day water fast, literally ate zero food for seven days only drank water and begged the devil for help. I also did a ritual where I went to a special place and made a fire and danced around the fire asking for power and a bunch of other shit really. Nothing ever worked except when I asked the angel to help me quit smoking one time but even that is dubious.
>>42934082>then I would goon and listen to it for at least 30 minutes before cumming on a sigil I drew with my own blood.>I asked an angel to helpYou believe in others instead of create and expect power, I mean it is possible, but work on actually creating friend.
>>42934082What was it that you were trying to get to happen?
>>42934097some of the things were original like my dancing around a fire naked under the moonlight and I was flogging myself with a leather belt and trying to summon my alter ego and yeah ultimately failed. Its actually not easy to do all this weird shit and I feel like I have been grossly undercompensated
>>42933997Usually mentioning the concept of exercising agency over narratives used to interpret reality to the end of improving individual agency as a whole gets me accused of being a Draconian or Reptilian, not an NPC. The point isn't that magic isn't real, the point is that it is real and is a function of perception. I suspect your issue here isnt the ideas being discussed, but the language I'm using to describe them. If I was to bring up this concept on reddit, I'd get banned for idk abelism because the subhumans there are gravely offended by anything that casts doubt on their orthodoxy, which critical discussion of narratives as a concept tends to do, as narratives are critical to the survival of these Orthodoxies.
>>42934110Ahh, you're just a nig living in life thinking you're in control. That is hilarious.
>>42934005Who do you think would have a better opinion? A monk who meditated for 50 years? Or you who just looked on reddit and downloaded the standard opinion? You're a disgusting low class pleb.
>>42933672You should go to Rax and have a hardy roast beef sandwich for only 99 cents. Tickadeedee.
>>42934110I would say to clear the slate and start over by identifying and questioning all the narratives you use to interpret reality. Your goal here isn't to get rid of them all, but only the ones you seem to be malicious, parasitic, wasteful, or otherwise producing an undesirable result in your life. Judge them by the fruit they bear, not the virtues they proclaim. The first result will be that other's magic becomes less effective. You will begin to understand how their magic works, what it depends on for its success, how it can be defeated, etc. This knowledge is precisely what gives you your defense. It becomes like putting your seatbelt on when getting in a car, you will be able to see it almost without trying. You will reach a point where only magic users able to achieve complete domination over your reality will be able to influence you, who will realistically be: - the media's masters, but you will only be vulnerable to them if you depend on them. We all know somebody like this. - faith users. Not just religious people, any orthodoxy has this potential. Anyone who tries to convince you that you have an obligation to treat their words as absolute truth. Much like the first group, you need to be dependent on then in some way to be vulnerable. - any entity with capabilities consistent with what we call the Demiurge. Could be powerful AI like in the Matrix, could be spiritual like the traditional understanding of the entity. To move past this and start practicing your own magic, you will use the knowledge from the first stage and apply it to an opportunity that presents itself to you. I can't tell you what this opportunity will look like or what you will apply - only you will know that when the opportunity presents itself. It will probably be something more simple, like manipulating your perception at work or school to get ahead without making the sacrifices that often requires.
>>42934204Bro more interested in the *idea* of magic than anything else. Think you're something else? Prove it faggot. Share your model of magic that we're all NPC redditors for deviating from.>Inb4 you confirm my suspicion by finding an excuse not to.
