I have questions that needs discussion or at least more information. These thoughts won’t leave me alone, I’ve been carrying them for weeks in my mind. Now I want to talk about them, or see, if you can share some insight. Here we go:Jesus Christ: Christ /Christos is a title – “anointed one” or in Hebrew “Messiah”. Jesus as name has its origin as Yehoshua / Jehoshua and Yesua / Jeschua, the Greeks translated it to Iesous and in Latin Iesus, later known as Jesus. The name Yehoshua translated means literally “YHWH saves” -> “Yahweh/Jehova saves”. Therefore: “Jesus Christ” = “Messiah Yahweh saves”. In a traditional sense that works for Christians, but not in Gnosticism: here YHWH is, the not only the god of the Old Testament, claiming to be the one above all. He is also a creation of Sophia and he has many names: the first Archon, Demiurge, Yaldabaoth, Saklas, Samael etc. and he’s far from perfect. Considering this background, the name Jesus becomes “the Demiurge saves”, which is ironic and paradox. The Demiurge farming humans for loosh to thrive on their devine Pleroma-energy-sparks can not be the one who saves our souls, because he recycles us to keep us here forever. Therefore, the name “Jesus” is pure propaganda, because it’s leads people directly into the arms of their oppressor. I’m aware, that the name “Jesus” or rather “Yehoshua” has been around for a long time and it’s possible that it’s simply a name given to a baby, like any other. However, if Jesus was a real man walking the earth, with the mission to free people from YHWH, is it possible that his name was chosen by negative forces to manipulate his presence? I mean, if YHWH knows: “that dude is spawning in my MMORPG Hell World to end my EXP farm, I better fix causality in a way, that he is named in my honor, so the confusion factor leads the blind into my arms”, could it be, that the name Jesus is like a marketing label to promote YHWH? >1/2 cont.

YHWH is not written once in the whole Nag Hammadi corpus. And always keep in mind that the NH texts are not a coherent corpus and are a collection of translated texts which are probably from different sects with conflicting opinions. Most things that are said about the demiurge nowadays (and especially on this board) are gross oversimplification, as well as the belief that gnosticism is dualistic. As for Jesus' name, there are truly no coincidences, in the same way that him being a carpenter is also highly symbolic (which doesn't discount the fact that it was also probably an historical reality, just to be clear). Names are off high importance. I don't believe that YHWH necessarily means evil too. The quote from the Gospel of Philipp clearly refers to common nouns, not proper nouns :>"Names given to the worldly are very deceptive, for they divert our thoughts from what is correct to what is incorrect. Thus one who hears the word "God" does not perceive what is correct, but perceives what is incorrect. To me this passage just reinforces how language is flawed and that we shouldn't get too hang up on words and what they mean in their common sense but try to understand their analogical meaning.

Certainly all the others have it according to their own language. The "Nazarene" is the manifested part of what is hidden.In the whole text, there is a call to go beyond manifestation and find what is hidden (something that other NH texts also emphasize). Thus, I think the text clearly states that Jesus is the higher name, the one that is fixed and closer to the ineffable reality, so I wouldn't think that this would be a deceiving name.

In Aramaic, Jesus' language, Jesus is known as Isho. Muslims call him Isa. Supposedly (!?) the same origin and meaning as Yeshua. Idk.
