Can certain singing suggest an altered state of consciousness faster than usual meditation for the inexperienced?
>>
Yeah absolutely. The more active mind you have the stronger technique you generally want to use. Chanting, repetitive singing, etc. are great choices.

Nice. I wonder how that works and which singing is best for various purposes (including spiritual awakening).

It's a little different for everyone, but in general for meditative states you want something that requires a little bit of concentration, but not enough to strain. At some point, hopefully, you start to get into a flow state where the active mind quiets and you become absorbed with the rhythm or sound of what you are singing or chanting. In that state both weird experiences and more lasting insights tend to arise.

You can experiment and trust your intuition.

I like polyphonic singing, there are a ton of examples in culturs around the world.

Singing bowls are great for meditating too. I would say in general quick repetitive chanting can get you quicker into a transe/dizzy-like state whereas long slow vibrations like choirs or singing bowls gets you into a more peaceful calming state.

Yes. Music can also be a spiritual tool that can change your vibration state. This can help attract certain well natured or ill natured entities.

I'll also add that singing yourself is more effective than listening to a track. If you have the space to do it and not worry about making noise I'd recommend it, be it chanting, repeating prayers or singing opera or whatever.

Thanks. Please tell me what your practice is like.

I'm hitting those alpha waves with black tea (L theanine).

This anon knows. Use something that you can fall into and not think about but enough to keep you in the flow of it. What I'm saying probably sounds ridiculous but you'll know it when you get it right.

With AI, even I could do it.
