Everybody will recommend The Witch, and I do it's good, but everybody knows about it. The Crucible is of course really good, but it's not really what most people think of when they're asking for actual witch content.
Sleepy Hollow is one of my favorite movies concerning witchcraft. The short story is fantastic, but doesn't really lean into the witch angle.
It'll sound silly, but The Scariest Story Ever: A Micky Mouse Halloween Spooktacular has some good witch stuff included.

I love Halloween. They don't celebrate it where I'm from, but my little sister was always enchanted by it. Seeing it in movies and TV and games and stuff. So when she was 10 and she wanted to have a Halloween party with her friends I used to make it for her.
I'd make fingers out of caramel with almonds for nails, dark red punch with an icy hand I made with a glove full of water, stuff like that. I'd read them some old ghost stories like Burrage's Smee and such. They wanted to go trick or treating too, so I went to all the neighbors and asked them if they could humor my sister and her friends. I gave the neighbors bags of candy, they'd hand out some to the kids and keep the rest. Everybody was fine with that arrangement. I miss it.

Yes indeed. Thinking about this now, his format and his work have remained very much as always. Once he locked in to his style, he just continued to expand it and please most of the fans, as well as himself of course. I was disappointed in the AVGN film, but for a first large budget production it was totally not bad. I need to give it another watch, while hoping MST3k or Rifftrax to get ahold of it at some point XD

I was trick or treating in the 80s, too. There were lines of kids in front of every house. Most of the candy kind of sucked: wrapped hard candy, safety pops, and maybe some candy corn or a popcorn ball from the old ladies. Or maybe my dad was hoarding the good stuff for himself. He did always check the candy first before giving it to me. I wouldn't know.

We had Latinos and blacks in the neighborhood. They usually had better decorations than the white people. Like this old Latino man had voice activated things on his porch that would sping to life when we said "trick or treat". Looking back, he probably had it hooked up to a clapper on an extension coard. One year he dressed like a scarecrow and sat on the porch with the candy bowl in his lap. He reached out when we reached out! The other Latinos also did scarecrows that year. So either you were freaking out at all scarecrows if you started with him, or really scared if you hit him last!

So yeah: Halloween magic wasn't just a white thing.

I didn't celebrate the last 8 years or so.
But this time around, I'm eating candy as fuck and getting scared.

It's puritanical Christian nonsense. Despite both sex and murder being taboo to them, they justify violence with mental gymnastics. But they can't justify sex because they have too many hangups about sex. Then they blame media for it all because they can't stand the idea that the problem is them.

Personally I prefer violence over sex in film because violence requires more skill, dedication, and art to fake. All you need for a sex scene is two actors, a blanket, and a soft focus camera. Or, for the really brave crews, they just fuck in front of a camera (ie: A Clockwork Orange). Meanwhile, the insane amount of work used to make something like Flowers of Flesh and Blood is impressive. It takes days of research, sculpting, and building for each prop. Plus each shot requires tremendous teamwork, outstanding timing, and often multiple tries with cleanup in between. Sex just can't touch violence on an artistic level.

IDK if this is embarrassing to share or not, but when I was in like grade 4 or grade 5 I was really obsessed with War of the worlds,it was basically my favorite book (alongside The Hobbit, Martian Chronicles,Tales From The Dying Earth, and At the mountains of madness) I was also really obsessed with the Orson Welles Radio show, and that one episode of Hey Arnold where the kids do a alien prank as well.

Can't say I do, no. But there's a house in my neighborhood that as a kid, me and my friends thought it was haunted.
Of course, I no longer believe in the supernatural, and even the hope of being wrong has vanished overtime, so naturally, I don't think that house is haunted anymore. That said, it is a fact that in 20 years, no one has lived there for more than a month, and it's currently just sitting there, abandoned, with a "For Sale" sign for the last 3 years and no potential buyers showing up.

Yeah there's this WW2 era battleship that has a cool haunt every year, there's a different theme every year, last years was just like an asylum prison break and it was kinda lame, this year's is similar,

The supernatural themes are just way better, plus it's expensive and you can't film so I don't think I'll go this year

I usually gift shop for people. If you have a keen eye, you can find actual local goods and not Ali Express shit. I always buy real stuff and gift them with the business card of the artist. My friends and family love it. Yes, some of it is normie. But not all of it. For example, I found a glass, steel, and laquer bloody eye necklace this year. I also found an original watercolor (not a print!) of Krampus. I snagged cold brew coffee and black forest bread pudding for myself while I was there. There was live music, too. It was comfy.

It helps that the market I prefer is run by the local Cthonic temple. I saw the runner at tonight's Bonfire talking up Plouton. She's nice but kind of stuck on her own viewpoint sometimes. Anyway, there's a lot of witchy stuff at the market. Oils, herbs, candles... A chick with a home made statue of Stolas... It's nice. The only pushy people are the nonprofits, like the anti-ICE group that showed up this time.

Now, the one by the city (today) was less great. Too much Ali Express crap sold by apathetic people. Not worth the time. So, yeah, sometimes markets suck. But when you find a good one, go!
