And yet evaporites have nothing to do with petrification. Analyses of pink Himalayan salt show 95-98% sodium chloride. Table salt. Which is why it is used as table salt. Unless titans were made of primarily table salt, impurities exist as natural impurities related to evaporating mineral rich solutions. There is no evidence of organic structure in such evaporite deposits, which are highly crystalline and consistent with the evaporation of a large body of mineral rich solution over a significant amount of time. If we were to suggest the petrification of an organic material, we would need to see some kind of structure. Pores could be filled with salt, sure. Or salts could encrust organic materials. But we see neither. Just salt.

I don’t think it does. And if we are talking about banding, I’ve seen granites and jasper that look more like muscle tissue. Pink salt deposits have bands because of differential evaporation. Mineral rich solutions change over time as some minerals precipitate or more minerals are added to the solution and bands of more or less impurities result in streaking or banding. There is no organic structure, just salt with layers of more or less impurity creating differently colored salt bands. Coloration is not structure is the main point. If these were petrified titans, we would expect to see fibers instead of crystalline salt. We would expect to see differences in mineralogy beyond 5% too, but that’s an aside. And unless titans were made of entirely meat, we should expect to see bone structures which would have been preserved more easily than flesh. Bones are already mineralized after all.
