I'm afraid reality's tone is going to be very different to most shoujo manga, though, learning irrefutable proof of monsters killing and torturing people can be quite traumatic.

I've also been reading about witchcraft in Mexico and those practices hold some promise as many people today fully believe in shapeshifters.
