When it comes to legal advice, don't talk to the police ever. You probably already did, so your last line of defence is getting a lawyer (ask for state appointed one if you can't afford one) and consulting with him. He should fairly quickly tell you if it's better to plead guilty for lower sentence or try to fight in court. Considering you're waiting for decision on the trial, I'd hope you have a lawyer already and he will try to dismiss the case - that would imply he thinks it's worth a shot.
