I'm 50/50 on if any space fairing cultures would deem humanity worth contacting. From the start our scientific achievements have outpaced our moral and cultural baselines. We've been making weapons and evolving concepts to kill one another from the start, and by the time we start using nuclear bombs to kill each other, I think it would be fair for another nonhuman culture to assume there's no end to our bloodlust. Given access to higher technologies, some coolaid drinking loser with beef brain would probably use it to do something bad.
Sure it's kind of a moral imperative to uplift and save every intelligent species, but it's also a moral imperative to help every disadvantaged person we meet but I don't think many of us are putting much effort into helping the homeless or the social outcasts.
I hope the morality and the brotherhood of intelligent life across the vast nothing of this universe would inspire contact. But I know if I was the one making that shot, I might be choosey regarding those that would lessen the whole, or who would not have made it there themselves.
