I could have sworn Bill Ingvall was in this movie but I guess he never was.

>>43009258No, it isn't a particularly good movie. The actors are good, but it doesn't really know where it's going plus you won't actually learn anything about the real programs it was based on
>>43011474I have a theory about this movie. It’s about John Von Neumann Both beldar and Von NeumannAre rocket scientistsAre always dressed upAre aliens pretending to be human - vn was a “martian”They both consume mass quantities. VN’s wife said he could count anything but calories Built rockets with atomic payloadsHave a single daughter they dote overCan fix anythingBeldar is a driving instructor and vn was a notoriously bad driver. The one thing he should never teach anyone is driving. What’s your theory?
>>43013114There's four versions, though the only two you're likely to find circulating these days are the original US cinematic cut and the unrated cut (the other two are the UK VHS cut and the Canadian cinematic cut, both are chopped to shit and I don't know if the Canadian cut even got a VHS release). The unrated cut has longer sex scenes and some extra exposition about the origins of Videodrome. IMO the extra exposition's kinda unnecessary.
>>43013114simple, get the one with the highest image quality
>>43010205Dreamscape looks dank. I like snake boy
>>43009258it is a well poisoning/misdirection like many other clooney/cia productions. Project Stargate was about to be declassified so they had to get ahead of the info, make you feel foolish. many such cases with clooney films
This movie was actually pretty rad. The werewolves looked cool as shit
>>43013229>>43013234Gotta hand it to the soibois. All these years and we still have that word filtered
>>43018953Of course it is. But that didnt make the movie any more interesting/watchable, sadly. The coens, eh, once you get used to their "quirks" their movies are really cold and i dunno, mechanic? Like yeah yeah, super saturated golden hour pretty pictures but what else? Cold monotone robotic language. Those guys arent human
>>43019177its not coen flick. The movie was released ahead of stargate to introduce the ideas as absurd so when you saw the declassified files you would also think them equally absurd. that is how hollywood functions.
>>43018953That's very interesting, wasn't aware of the timing there.
>>43019278That's because it's not true. Stargate had been declassified in 1995 and the movie came out in 2009.
>>43019278it was declas and ended in 1995 but the files were not released until 2017. The movie came out in 2009. Movies implant ideas that can later be accessed. Movies, especially shown in theaters, lull you into a sleep like state that allows your brain to suspend disbelief as well as fill in the gaps of the movies "world." This works by lowering the protective inhibition of the left brain and allows messages to flow directly into the right brain, the non language brain. Thats why there are so many sybmols and archetypes used in movies and advertising. it is speaking to your right brain and accessing stored information from previous media messaging. This creates an emotional response and allows for a decision to be made. You are inundated with ads all day. You think you can ignore them, but you cannot because of the implanted messaging sitting in your right brain that your left brain cannot pretect you from. Thats how propaganda works. Its easy to recognize but it works even if you see it coming. OUr economy is based on coveting. Wanting what others have.
>>43019339>>43019339>it was declas and ended in 1995 but the files were not released until 2017Ed Dames was teaching RV in 1989
>>43020097Channon went private sector with it the instant he got out of the Army in '83 too, and Bill Robertson pushed the psychic spook stuff for a while in the '80s too (though unlike the others he was probably bullshitting). Even when it was still classified it was one of the worst kept secrets.
>>43009258>Should I watch this?it's true kino. everyone should watch this, and especially /x/-philes.>Also are there any /x/ certified films I should definitely watch?there's a lot, but try Close Encounters of the Third Kind if you haven't seen it
