Has anyone experienced the phenomenon of object duplication? In the past six months something like this has happened to me twice. Both times I was actively searching for the item, found it, then found the "original" item. Ignore the Facebook group just found it interesting that someone else reported this when I googled a moment ago

It honestly makes me feel uneasy in a way I can't even define. I wonder if reality is starting to get more 'wiggly'
>>
>>43017784
it's not a thing
people are just really dumb/unobservant/forgetful, which accounts for 90% of paranormal experiences
>>
>>43017794
It has literally happened to me twice. I don't post or believe any schizo shit. In both instances it would have been impossible to have another one of the item
>>
>>43017784
those forks are not duplicates. BRO!!!
>>
>>43017829
What was the item?
>>
how do i abuse this glitch to duplicate green paper?

This happened to me a few times, but with super insignificant little objects. I think one was sort of a bright red plastic cap I took of some kitchen appliance to fix it.
>>
>>43017784
Haven't we had this thread before?
>>
>>43017784
There was a time recently, my headphones broke, I checked a drawer and found my even older pair of headphones that were also broken, split in half (not tard rage literally just cheap shit breaking easily). But miraculously they were completely normal?
I am a massive cheapskate so I only buy things as replacements when it's 100% unusable.
>>
>>43017784
normals are beyond help and hope, rip to them all. and just think, these people get to vote.
>>
There's an obvious tendency to disregard things like this

What if it happens exponentially more often than it seems and everyone just talks themselves out of the realization? I think this is very key to how many elements of our lives play out

One of my objects was a dog toy that splits in half. I had half of it and was looking for the other half. I found the other half, connected to the same half I was carrying. The duplicated part is smooth and without bite marks, the original covered in gouges.

Another thing was something I received as a kickstarter reward. It's impossible to have had two. Again I was looking for it because I wanted to put it in a display case. I found it, put it in the case, then later that day I found it again in the box it used to rest in.

It has something to do with wanting to find the thing or use it. There is intention attached

I believe in precisely 0 non replicable paranormal stuff. Well, this happened twice, and I'm certain I only possessed one of each object. The fact that the dog toy seems to be an "earlier" version is intense and matches up with what many people say regarding this experience.

See, it even happens with 4chan threads

This just happened to me for the first time this morning
>be smoker
>don’t smoke cigarettes, instead smoke the swisher sweet mini cigars because they don’t go out while I’m thinking
>was out of cigars last night, went to buy some more and didn’t smoke again before bed
>wake up this morning, make coffee
>open pack of swishers, the minis have three in there
>grab one out of there, have mini cigar in my hand ready to smoke as I’m clearing the table and getting read
>pick up open cigar pack (the only one opened)
>it has 3 in it
>but there’s one in my hand
>wtf
>squish all three packs to see which one I missed
>nope, all three packs have their full three set of cigars
>and yet there is one in my hand with the lighter and all packs are full, despite one having the top ripped off
I’m still kinda reeling about it. Worse, even, because now I see this thread. There is a 0% chance I had the extra cigar just sitting there because if I had, I would not have gone out for cigars before bed like that.

Seems to involve familiar mundane, low value objects that the person desires at that time

It's impossible to know things like whether reality is a simulation. But what if bugs start occurring?

The next step, if you have experienced this, is to try to do it intentionally. I bet it won't work with anything valuable.
>>
>>43018329
When I was doing some cursory investigation one of the reported variants of this phenomenon is things becoming unbroken. See my comment about the duplicate dog toy I found not having bite marks.

I saw another example of this recently. A girl on social media found a piece of broken glass in her sink and it recognizably belongs to a set of 4 drinking glasses she has had for a while and always uses. She was certain she didn't break one and that she only had 4, which she showed on camera.

It's so easy to ignore this happening to anyone else. You don't know what you have. You're mistaken. You're high or drunk. You're mentally unhealthy. You're trolling. You're doing it for attention.

I believe this is real. I cannot explain it happening twice to me
>>
>>43018755
If I could simply duplicate my personal tobacco supply I would definitely call that valuable kek but I know what you mean. I don’t even think I could replicate (lol) the situation even one time. It was so fucking weird
>>43018765
When you looked into this, does the last time the person interacted with the object in question seem to have any bearing on the duplication? In most examples it seems like people are finding the duplicates at a certain “timing” with regard to interacting with the object.
In the case of the cigar, I had just fucking touched the thing. I’m left to wonder if I actually removed it and it somehow “respawned” for significant lack of a better term or if I never “actually” removed the cigar and just got one in my hand anyway. I hadn’t even walked away from my kitchen table.
>>
>>43018741
hell yeah. i love it when i get a free beer.
man i could really go for a free beer rn.

>>43017829
>I don't post or believe any schizo shit.
I guarantee you believe in the "mandela effect"
>>
>>43018850
It's very poorly reported/studied. I think everyone ignores it and the threshold of believability is too high for even most common sense "paranormal" interested folk

I did not see any kind of consistent pattern other than the objects are most often familiar and mundane.

One variant that is widely reported is the item being lost and then getting replaced by a similar, but different, item with the same function.

My curiosity is largely in whether things like this are starting to happen more often in general
>>
>>43018883
I don't. It's basically always people misremembering

This was compounded by a few brands literally lying about past logos and stuff as some kind of weird corporate legal shit (fruit of the loom) probably has to do with IP law
>>
>>43018901
>I think everyone ignores it and the threshold of believability is too high for even most common sense "paranormal" interested folk
This is certainly true. If I had to rank /x/ ideas by believability, this would come in near the lowest. It’s just too physically significant. I would have ignored this thread and probably scoffed too if it had not happened to me first thing this morning. Hell, had it not been first thing then I may not have noticed at all.
>>
>>43018907
>It's basically always people misremembering
oh yeah that's totally different than you with your
>i was looking for my sock and i found it but then i found a SECOND SOCK????
that definitely materialized out of thin air rather than you forgetting you had a second
>>
>>43018912
Interesting that you perceive it that way, I guess I'd have to agree. I am a highly rational person and I'm not involved in any of the typical x posting about tulpas and ghosts and blah blah blah.

But I also believe that the fundamental shape of reality is unknown to relatively simple beings like us, and it's a core part of my perspective that we simply do not really know what's going on, at all.

Maybe reality is more wiggly if you're more wiggly. I have a possibly connected story. One night the sky looked really interesting and purple, and I thought, "tonight would be the night you would see a UFO". I then saw, within one minute, a classic UFO that looked like a saucer with lights around the middle. I felt like it "saw me" and I saw it visibly fade into the distance.

Did I see it because I thought I could? Did my state of mind *allow* me to see it, when maybe they're just there the whole time, and the issue is our perception?

A lot of paranormal thought that I have fully disregarded, and a lot of meditative and religious ideas, rely on setting your intention. It seems like every time this happens, someone intends to "use" the duplicated object.

I'm going to perform some cursory experiments like having my wife hide something we're certain there is only one of. But I'm sure it won't work. It just feels like it wouldn't be evoked in that way.
>>
>>43018939
>Something can logically be easily dismissed, therefore it cannot occur

Basic rationality error. Sorry, it's just not interesting to me to go back and forth, I'm one of the most intelligent and rational people you will ever talk to on this board and I can academically outperform you on paper in every subject. I'm not some confused fat trailer wiccan, I live in a million dollar house.

I agree with you anon.

I saw a a metallic orb flying very low, directly above me on a bright sunny day.
It was spinning and then broke into a bunch of small fragments.

As soon as I realized what I was seeing and thought i need to record it, the orb reformed to a sphere then it went invisible or phased into nothing. Just dissolved almost.

It was mind blowing to experience. I 100% feel like it knew my thoughts to record.

>>43018901
>My curiosity is largely in whether things like this are starting to happen more often in general
I missed this part of your post earlier but I guess the last thing to add is that I’ve been a smoker for more than 10 years now. Nothing like this has ever happened before, there were times where it would have been REALLY fucking nice but nah. Just the once recently here. As a smoker, your supply of smokes isn’t something you ever forget or take lightly. Especially when it’s not cigarettes and my entire day’s supply is less than 10 items. I’ve got count for practical reasons and it’s something I’m very good at doing since running out of tobacco by accident is basically impossible as a smoker.
>>
>>43019160
I have not ever alleged any event of this nature occurred in my life until this year. There are so few records or research on this, so no historical time period when it was widely reported.
>>
>>43019160
there's been a dozen or so times in my life where i had to quit cold turkey and go without for up to a month at most, usually a few weeks or couple of days, due to lack of supply.
>>
>>43017784 Reminds me of the story from an abductee of orbs replacing objects for monitoring the person. And even if you throw them out, they'll come back inside. Think of them as implants but outside the body.

Maybe you should ask yourself if you've ever had missing time, or wierd childhood stuff you're not able to recall (but comes in dreams). Or maybe check your cameras. Otherwise kleptomania *shrugs

That sounds like an unreliable schizo so no, not the same as what we are saying. People who say stuff like that are just obviously unhealthy liars

I have another story that is completely bizarre, quite a few years ago when I was in high school. Me and a few friends were doing some physics experiment where we had to drop a small metal rod on some blotter paper (can't remember but it was to make a mark?). Randomly, one time we dropped it, a small white oval object appeared and flew across the room like it'd been hit by something. Literally out of thin air. We investigated it like this thing was a UFO for a while. We went cave-man mode and decided a good test would be to taste it (lol) and it turned out to be a mentos. There's nothing else to add, a mentos just randomly appeared out of thin air. The metal rod was not hollow and it would be too small to fit a mentos (and idk how the fuck that would even work).
Not related but once I also witnessed a fireplace go from unlit to blazing without anyone touching it. It had one other witness too.

I was at a buddys place and he dropped a grinder full of weed, as he did he pulled his leg back and kicked a chair, which made a noise that lined up with the sound of it hitting the floor, but it didn’t, I watched it vanish about a foot or 2 off the ground. Then months later when we were out of weed it materials in the same spot, and hit the floor with a clunk, we were dumbfounded, and then we smoked the weed, which increased our IQ enough to no longer be dumbfounded.

it does not look like the same...different scratches too...either different reality where it was used differently or there was some imperfection in the duplication process i dont know

This guy randomly created a [Galaxy Grade] summoner's circle for menthos and did not save it.
It might have been the cheat code or a short lin to create that exact item....
>>
Search "kipple".
>>
>>43018741
wait, there are people who actually just smoke swishers as intended instead of just hollowing them out to roll blunts?
>>
>>43024405
You've smoked a blunt but never a black and mild? Poser
>>
>>43017794
Naw dude, I have two cars now like WTF?!
>>
>>43024405
Yeah they’re actually pretty decent tobacco for the price point. You can get much better stuff by unit price on good pipe tobacco but I’ve been lazy lately and haven’t put in an order for that online. Swishers are the next best thing imo and I can just get them at the gas station.
Back in the late 00’s or early 10’s, they added some kind of fire safety stripes along cigarettes. They just automatically go out every centimeter or so along the length of it. It doesn’t sound so bad at first but if you finish a drag at the beginning of a fire safety strip and then look away for a second, you cig will be out and you have to relight. It makes them annoying to smoke and somehow taste even worse. Mini cigars or pipe tobacco it is.
Anecdotally, my lungs feel a lot better with cigars/pipe. It’s not like it’s an issue of inhaling- I fully inhale the unfiltered smoke from the cigars and pipe tobacco too. I cycle 30-50 miles per week and go for a run 2-3 times per week. I am certainly not as fast as a nonsmoker who puts in the same amount of effort but I fucking dust normies at both those activities. Cigarettes always had me huffing and puffing when I got too physical. I wonder if they put something else in those.

Nelson Mandela was duplicated so a Mandela died in prison, and out of it.
>>
>>43024629
Don't bring that gay bullshit into my thread

The only people who thought mandela died in jail were people who watched a movie and confused characters
>>
>>43018029
This is a good point
> If (based on their favourable dispositions) we distrust reports by the apparently credulous or sympathetic that certain odd phenomena occurred, we should (by parity of reasoning) be equally wary of reports by the incredulous or unsympathetic that the alleged phenomena did not occur (or that cheating occurred instead). So, we adopt an indefensible double standard if we distrust only testimony in favour of the paranormal.

I didn't make it up. I will always have more internet points than everyone here, so not really an idea for me (was connected to important internet groups in the 90s) and I am far older than most here.

If you continue the allegation, I will gladly duel you with pistols. I really mean it. This is my new method of solving petty disputes in which lesser individuals attempt to issue dishonor to my position.
>>

>>43026649
That's so strange, the description seems to be exact but is from a short story.

I immediately have the thought that it happened to the author and he knew people wouldn't believe him so he put his testimony in fiction instead. I'll have to read it
>>
>>43030767
The inclusion of this concept in that story comes from something quite a bit deeper than that. You should read about Tlön and come back.
>>
>>43019062

I had a very similar experience around 2005 in Germany. Some orb suddenly fell down in our garden and split into smaller stuff and then I turned my head and it became a ball again and was gone in a split second.
