what exactly is the point of human life at all? human life is almost 100% suffering. watch the news, it's all about suffering. watch sports, it's all about who can "win" therefore suffer the least. Then they celebrate for 2 days and go back to suffering. Work, suffering. Family, prolong suffering. Art, suffering articulated. "Pleasure", temporary relief from suffering. "self improvement", the idea that if you suffer in one way, you'll be free of suffering in the future.
Why is suffering bad though?
>>43063793Point?
>>43063804It should be avoided.
>>43063804suffering is bad. but my point goes beyond that.I believe humans are essentially addicted to suffering as it gives them a kind of surrogate meaning. suffering is extremely easy to understand, thus extremely easy to get hooked into your mind as a meaning machine. I believe that suffering actually could be largely cured on earth, but that this would actually then create a larger problem for humans. What gives meaning without the management of suffering.
>>43063793You have choice in the matter. You don't endure a movie of sorts, you can decide on things occasionally. So the reality you experience is your own making and it your resposibility to shaps reality in wht you imagine it ought to be. Noone can do this for you. Complain as much want, change starts with you. That you exist is just a consequence of it being impossibke to find oneself not existing. There come no moment where you can determine your absense. At all times you will see that first of all you exist, then details. The details are not absolute, it all depends on your own karma. Life is suffering because you make it suffering, thats your own fault. I disagree your sentiment, I find life to be enjoyable most times. Clearly you are doing something in a less then optimal way.
>>43063804sufdering=bad "ex vi termini", we define it that way
>>43063793how would i know
>>43063824Is strength good? Because you don’t get to strength without going through suffering. Is experience and understanding good, toward being a useful, encouraging friend to others? You cant relate and have credibility without your own suffering. A shared suffering allows a MUCH deeper connection than would otherwise be possible. That’s only two small examples. A world without suffering is weak and relationally superficial. (And before anyone goes there… yes, heaven will be a place without suffering, but it won’t be a place without the MEMORY of suffering. Those experiences during your life will still matter and have impact.)
>>43063925>Those experiences during your life will still matter and have impact.)yes, of leaving you as a spiritual train wreck incapable of reaching higher planes where the gatekeepers don't allow "impure" souls in, also leaving you shorn of your innocence so you can't full enjoy anything and always looking over your shouldergood job, sufferingdamn good job
It's a Hallmark of this mortal realm; time day we won't have to put up with it, for we will be able to create lands, personalities and relationship that don't have it. This mortal realm comes first. There were really long before and will be some after, but right now this comes first. We build our holy futures out of our bodies and lives, I help with that. Day and night I transform our ordinary mortal behavior into dances for the good and goddesses and I do other things to grant us power, day and night, power that will quickly become obvious after death.
suffering is what we call qualia which we seek to reduce in proximinity and fequency. the natural tendency is decreased suffering over time. on the flipside qualita which we seek to increase in proximity and frequency we call pleasure. it is our nature to shift the balance exactly this way, consequently things get better with time.
>>43063976>the natural tendency is decreased suffering over timeno "natural tendency" exists motherfucker, what you're saying is just ye olde Myth Of Progress
>>43064113it is just what we do. we put effort into reducing suffering, ergo suffering is reduced. thats just common sense. denying the reality progress is fatal though. implicitly you deny even the possibilty of our dialog yielding progress. what point is there in talking then?
>>43063793ΨArt has a "hump" which you have to get over.ΨΨNot sure about music. Running has that "side pain" that's the hump.ΨΨIn art, once you get over the "hump", you don't ever have to get over it again. Since you understand. You never lose your understanding of something.ΨΨThe point of human life, is to do what the other humans do.Ψ
>>43063793It wasn't always like this. It won't be like this forever.
>>43063824this is why you will always be a weak faggot
>>43063804Okay fair but this world is cartoonish-ly evil and the design is basically kill or be killed. It's kinda fucked and it had to be created by design, no?
>>43064365>we put effort into reducing sufferingSome people do, but not most people and most of all not the world in some providential sense. The belief in a meliorative trend to history, where everything gets better over time, is just some naive industrial age kookery people made up because of the increasing standard of living and creature comforts they were coming into, an idea taken even further with the sweep of "democratic" revolutions and governance raising most of them out of the dirt. Those idiots were all so impressed with their new lives they decided it had to destiny but they'd also become too converted to enlightenment era bullshit to give "god" the credit for it so they started the myth of progress. 200 years later and despite how much worse everything really is we're still babbling about muh progress, going around legalizing every possible form of insanity in its name, making big government ever bigger and destroying civil liberties and race-replacing everyone to get there. It doesn't matter which way you look at it, whether this so-called progress is the work of people or something inherent to the world, the result has only been a net increase in suffering, not a decrease. So you're wrong. Sorry, but that's how it is.>implicitly you deny even the possibilty of our dialog yielding progressis this supposed to be logical?I think I've had enough of you...
>>43063793We are essentially game pieces in a board game called "Earth: the battle of good vs evil". It's not all suffering but the "evil" is the loudest and is more involved/impactful than team "good" due to each sides gameplay style. The players are not bound by time.
>>43064622>compassion doesn't fit into sadistic wallnutbrainin your world everyone has to a piece of shit so you don't hate yourself, no?
>>43064597saved
>>43063804What you said is the best example of Stockholm Syndrome I have seen in years. Suffering is bad, especially continuous and long-term suffering which causes bad qualities to become more evident. A little bit of suffering that is dispersed through life is good, but continuous suffering is spiritually damaging. No buhddist copes, please. We are simply pawns.
>>43063793>what exactly is the point of human life at all? >human life is almost 100% suffering. That's the point, it's a loosh farm.
>>43064646you get the same answer >>43064659
>>43064688you're an idiot
>>43063793Suffering is an illusion. All suffering exists only in the mind. You can simply choose not to suffer.
>>43065995don't suppose you wanna try telling that to a family of gazans whose kid's face was melted off with white phosphorous, do ya punk
>>43066069yeah it only exists in their mind as do all emotions. you only suffer if you want to or just out of habit. you really don't have to
>>43066098I can't wait'll the next great depression pulls you pampered 1st-worlders from your new age ivory towers so we can see how your reality denying metaphysics stacks up while you're sleeping in a bum camp and eating grass, just be sure to keep telling yourself "suffering no exist"it can be your new mantra
>>43066282Retard
>>43066767hit a nerve, huh? you know it's true...won't be spewing platitudes anymore when the big one rips you from your centrally heated cocoon somedayand someday is right around the corner
>>43063804You'd love if archons rape you 6 hours a day and you beg and scream for pardon?
>>43066098So you're saying that being skinned alive daily is just an emotion in mind?
>>43067475Pain is neurons detecting damage to the body and sending chemical signals to one another until it reaches the brain (mind) so you can process and respond. It all occurs within the nervous system. Where else do you believe pain exists?
>>43063793>What is the point of sufferingIt's designed so you can live. Without pain, like people with Congenital Insensitivity to Pain, we'd die young to things like biting through our tongues. Without fear, we'd walk to our deaths. Without desire or envy, we would be happy with what we have, but life is a game of resources and power.Without the pains of hunger or thirst, we would not eat or drink. All of this, through trial and error, mutation, is to keep you alive for the sole purpose of.... fuck I don't know huhuh...Whether that's a good thing or not is up to you, but the system doesn't care what you think about it. It's stubborn. It always gives you as much as is needed to stay alive, and that too is without your consent. The game rewards what lives and punishes what doesn't, so the natural state of things is to live in cowardice and hate, because faggot redditor life says "because... because you just have to!"
>>43066785It isn't the first world that has a problem with food. Even if our production is a third of what it is today that is enough to feed us. We are just going to stop feeding you the third world. I don't think you know where your food comes from.
>>43067612>but life is a game of resources and power.to explain, selection often favors competitors with more resources and power. Why? uhhh idk lol but that means people who are hungry for these things survive and carry on their genes.
>What is the point of lifeCan't reasonably say it has a point. If the spirit exists (it does), then life feels foreign. It feels like a gambling machine designed to get attention. Feels like a big hungry predator that instead of just eating you, puts you in a cell within its body and has you work for it.
