Does magic really exist in our material world? I'm talking about being able to do things truly extraordinary like for example bending a spoon with your mind or floating in the air or create fire with your fingers. I've been obsessed with these thoughts recently and... well it doesn't hurt to ask. So have you ever witnessed something akin to magic? And I'm not talking about stuff like having a lot of charisma and influencing people's mind through it. I've never met someone "charismatic" I don't even know what this actually means in reality.
No bend spoon w mind is stage trickNo float on air except w balloonFire w fingers easy if you have a lighter
>>43069177So magic is human ingenuity? I mean I know I may sound retarded with my thread asking like a child if a human can put out laser beams out of his ass... but I don't know. It does make sense that in our world we can't create something out of nothing though
>>43069161Yeah. But you have to leave this world the moment you can do anything that will break it.
>>43069196Please tell me more. What do you mean by that? do you have any example of people who discovered something like this?
>>43069201Jesus for example
>>43069255Yeah maybe but I was thinking more in our era
>>43069264Me.
In some manner. Magic is matter obeying will, well, it does. However, there is a causal chain that follows several rules. The closest thing to your self are those that obey immediately, your awareness, inner world, etc. then from there, as near as your ego and other layers within the mind, those layers that aren't simply you, but you plus your accumulated experiences, the causal chain begins. Inside out, what you have inside flows out, interacts, and transforms what you see as the outside, when some see it as simply all as matter, no inside or outside, but matter at different resolutions. What then impacts the speed at which will travels down the causal chain? There is focus, is your will strong enough to keep affecting what's downstream from you? There is mass, any mass, metaphorical or resource, whatever, but mass is gravity. If you are rich, you have workers, if you have workers, you have other wills/singularities working to bring your will down the causal chain. More minds, more speed. Then there are some more, don't remember, gotta look at my notes. My point is, yeah, at some level, in some ways. If you define magic as matter obeying will, it always is, nonstop. Like raindrops, we all cancel each other out, and some are subservient to the biggest drops, you serve their dreams. You may lack mass, but you can at least choose to not unwillingly and unsuspectingly serve another's dream, and keep your own world clean and pure. I hope that made some sense?
>>43069161the material world is not material. it's all consciousness. magic is focusing your consciousness and then the conscious world reacting.
>>43069368teehee the digits are mine alone!True knowledge regardless. Anyway, OP, nothing in this world is worth pursuing, get out as quickly as you canThis is a dream and you need to wake up. You have the abilities you speak of, they respond, just to a capacity to small for you to notice immediately, but it's there.Use it to make yourself wake up.It will work eventually. Small success is still success.Success compounding is success compounding. Leave as quickly as you can.
>>43069313It does make sense and it's something I can get behind especially that last part about not working for someone else's dream. I understand what you're getting at. It's all about causality I guess?>>43069368That's the problem with me and my life right now. See, I'm 28 and after I graduated I worked for 2 years and then resigned because the whole thing was basically mind numbing to me. I've been unemployed for a year and half living off the money I've accumulated since my 18th birthday and I thought I'd find something worth pursuing, worth putting my mind into but it's been more than a year and the only thing I ritually do is going to the gym and reading but it doesn't lead me anywhere. I'm still quite anxious about the future, still unsure about who I am or what I like, or even what I actually want to be. >>43069389Today, more than ever before, I do feel like nothing is worth pursuing here. But I don't feel like there's any other alternative. I used to see myself as someone who would eventually find his purpose and pursue it but now, the only future me I see is a rotting corpse.
>>43069453oh my GOD YOU BLITHERING MAGPIE RETARD i FUCKING TOLD YOU HOW TO LEAVE I TOLD YOU I TOLD YOU I TOLD YOU HOOOOOWWW WHY ARE YOU ALL SO FUCKING STUPID OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOD
>>43069461I don't know what you mean by leaving. Leave what? where? cryptic stuff is unecessary and doesn't lead anywhere
>>43069161Currently, Magic works under "The Masquerade"; where it mostly becomes "heavy 'Statistical Influences' in different Lines of Events". Right now "only noticed by those with training in the subject".
>>43069469Listen, I don't post often, I'm more of an observer in all things, but I read your first reply to that guy and I gotta say. It seems you are currently going through a phase where you are searching. It's great to discover yourself, but keep this in mind, at moments when our sense of self is diminished or weakend due to life events, we become vulnerable. A lack of a solid sense of self creates a vacuum and that vacuum can be filled by others if you're not careful. Discovery is great when done safely. This board? It's full of crazy nut jobs. Just read the reply that asshole sent you in all caps, he's crazy. So be careful about what you choose to absorb at this time and from who. It may take some time, but find what you love or choose to love something. For me, I have things I know I love, and before I do the things do I pray and remind myself how the energy I choose to spend is for what I love. What I love is part of my dream, so the work I do for what I love is in the end work to create my dream. I just wanted to say be careful, we are shaped by will too. Self is shield against manipulation or bad will.
>>43069700Thanks for your post. It makes me put things into perspective. I feel like my sense of self is withering as of late that's true. I think I need to browse the internet a bit less right now
>>43069759I hope you find what you love and have people around you who support you, good luck. Your dream matters too, I hope you work to realize it and it gives you meaning.
>>43069161taoist kung fu feels like magic, though it's all sound physics
>>43069161Yes magic is real beyond stuff that can be explained by coincidence but it’s rare and people will call you crazy/lying/stupid/whatever if you tell them about it regardless of how logical those arguments actually are. Skeptics think that as long as there’s a 0.001% that what happened could be a coincidence it must be a coincidence because the probability of it being magic has to be 0%. People who believe in other /x/ stuff can go straight back to being skeptics if the topic in question is stigmatized or doesn’t fit in their belief system. Many Christian priests and monks were the first skeptics, preaching that any supernatural stuff which didn’t fit within their narrow worldview of angels and god had to be some trick of the mind and only after long argumentation could they say it was maybe Satan or demons. The church flogged people for superstition.
>>43069897The problem I have with this is I've never ever witnessed anything that couldn't be explained. Sure there are some phenomenons that still can't be properly explained by science but in 28 years of existence I never encountered anything truly special or out of the ordinary to the point I'd be lack "yeah that's magic alright". I experience a lot of synchronicity and weird dreams that I feel are trying to tell me something in my daily life and I'm always thinking about these but it never lead to anything. I always end up with more questions than answers
>>43069161Anon I'm sending you the thoughts from my head at the speed of light transmitted through the air controlled by passing lightning through rocks of various rarity and using key magic words to get them to work together. You just think it's not magic because the helic nerds are allergic to fun.
>>43069161>And I'm not talking about stuff like having a lot of charisma and influencing people's mind through It’s not supposed to be charisma, it’s supernatural and it occurs through the use of spiritual forces >I'm talking about being able to do things truly extraordinary like for example bending a spoon with your mind or floating in the air or create fire with your fingers. You won’t be able to do that, there are siddhis and physical manifestations of magick that are quite direct, but they are stuff like prophetic dreams, flickering lights, sudden things surreal things happening, and synchronicities etc.I make no claim on the knowledge of how far siddhis can go, you only can confirm what you’ve experienced. Regardless if it’s hypothetically possible or not, I can say that the vast majority of people who practice magick at the very least will never ever experience fire made from their fingers. Magick is using the supernatural to cause what is essentially already physically possible, you can influence reality but fire from your fingers would be breaking the laws of physics. But you can achieve some pretty surreal things even within that limitationYou can heal pretty effectively with magick, it takes whatever natural likelihood of recovery is and heightens it, but magick would heal through natural means but the natural means would be directed towards the best probability. Meaning that magick will make scientific medicine and surgery really effective, but you still need to take that medicine or go through that surgery, not the placebo effect either since it’s best not to tell the person you are healing
Your posts are strange. You seem confused. What are you looking for, really?> I've never ever witnessed anything that couldn't be explained. Then you exist within an abstract paradigm within your mind which explains all unexplainable phenomena as simple and obvious and which does not seek the unknown. The first step to truly knowing is to forget all that you know.
>>43069161It’s mostly fake. Magic can be considered stage tricks and that sort of thing. But you can bend causality or communicate with other beings / NHI and explore the unconscious and the psyche. But can you shoot fireballs out of your ass without a match? Nope.
>>43069161Yes, but from what I’ve seen, it depends a lot on natural rhythms and bonds, so it’s hard to use it on command. At least, that’s what I’ve noticed from my own experience
>>43070551fair. Writing feels like magic indeed>>43071147From what I understand about what you're saying it seems that magick is mostly something related to your will and desires. The stronger the will and desire to heal the better medicine will work right? So it means that an individual who's lost will and desire is basically someone who can't properly get into it or even feel or see magick>>43071193I am very confused right now yes. Now that I read my posts again they do seem all over the place. In a way we all live in our own minds right? The difficult task is to change its shape and see the world in a new light, most of the time in a more positive one for us. >>43071205How do you even know you're actually communicating with other beings and not just with yourself?
>>43069161magic does exist, it's called the jewish stock markets where cash just pops out for them but not for anyone else
>>43071404>In a way we all live in our own minds right?Sick people live in their own minds. An excess of focus placed on the inner world/abstract mind. It leads to madness and destruction. Good health and wisdom is found in unobstructed living in the universe.
>>43071515I know.. I know I'm getting mad. I'm not feeling like myself these days. I'm too much in the clouds and in my own world overthinking everything and not really doing what I should/want. It wasn't like that a few years ago when I actually had aspirations and hope in my future
>>43071686The modern human world will do that to you, it was designed and built by people who were mad, it's only natural that living in such a mad world you yourself will begin to go crazy. If you've been working for years it's natural you begin to lose touch with normalcy. Is that why you're seeking extraordinary powers, to escape your present hell? It's a natural thought to seek a way out when feeling imprisoned. You don't need any great power or insight to settle your mind, calm your body and get some order in your life; all that's required is to walk away from the human din and seek quiet solace in the natural world.
>>43072005Man thank you so much for your kind insightful words. Lots of good people out there on /x/ that's heart warming. Today I sat down and wrote somekind of routine I started to do to discipline my mind and keep it a bit more occupied. You're right, I realize now that me seeking extraordinary powers is a way to escape my reality and I feel like, with this thread, I can actually find these "powers" in myself and that they're basically linked to my will, my soul, my discipline and efforts. I need to work on that. I need to work on being more focused so that I can actually work on myself without overthinking everything and not jumping from a thing to another
In the Talmud, the rabbi comments that before Jesus, they could perform "magic" on their rituals. But after Jesus, none of it works anymore
>>43069161Spoon bending is supposedly relatively simple to do as far as magical abilities goes. There are records of flying saint in the 1500s or something with many witnesses, I think in the hundreds. Some Buddhist monks allegedly have that ability, from simple levitation while meditating to flying. I think it's mostly in Tibetan Buddhism there examples of siddhis (supernatural abilities), but not exclusively. Public display is frowned upon and is considered more of a side effect from Spiritual enlightenment and disillusion of the physical world. The Buddha himself according to the texts demonstrated extraordinary feats far exceeding the things you mentioned. I don't know about shooting fireballs, but you can use Chi or whatever energy it is to light things like paper on fire. There's the famous video of an Asian healer demonstrating his abilities. It should be noted that some of these abilities seems to be done with the help or assistance of spirits.
>>43071404> The stronger the will and desire to heal the better medicine will work right? It feels like fishing but with your mind kinda, you need to direct the energy correctly. Stuff like LOA oversimplifies it by saying that you need be faithful or optimistic, all that mental Will stuff in a ritual can make you feel like a conductor who is trying to get the universe to cooperate with you
>>43072425reminds me of Fate. In Fate they say that before the age of man there was an age called the age of gods and magic was actually a thing back then but after the death of Jesus (I think) magic began to gradually diseappear from every day life. Magic and other mythical creatures>>43072520That sounds really cool honestly and I heard of them but never seen it. Do you think I could find some videos online about that? Like watching someone levitate for example. Well since it violates the laws of physics I kind of doubt there isn't some optical trick to it at least. If people like this really exist I wonder if it's something that they trained or some gift from nature/gods>>43072755I'll start browsing LOA threads. I used to think it was a bit bullshit since I actually read and practiced it back in 2017 but didn't really get the results I wanted. Maybe I was a bit immature back then
Magic is merely the abandoned metaphysics based "science" of the ancient world. The use of it in everyday life was about as mundane as taking an aspirin is today. A lot of the parts that got discarded during the eveolution from things like alchemy to chemistry etc are still functional but don't fit into the current model
