Hello my dear friends, i am long time lurker and long time replier, i have been reading a lot but i am quite dumb so i have trouble speaking my thoughts, lately i have been incredibly suicidal i have the horrible life and it gets the better of mei would consider myself someone spiritual, i feel i am too weak to follow a religion but i do enjoy buddhism and following jesus from the bible i am so lost in my life, i am wondering if i should commit fully to following a religion, if anyone has done it and if they have had good stories of betterment :^)
Id say you are well on your way to finding a happy life. I been feeling those feelings too, depression and suicidal tendencies. But as I read and get into the faith more I realize there is little barrier of entry, only what we tell ourselves. Whether it be buddhism or Christianity, our mind sets the difficulty. I know you can do it. I am currently cycling between Christianity, christian mysticism and Advaita and while I would say Im far from a perfext human being, I enjoy the journey just a bit more, and maybe with a bit of luck we can both find a happy ending. I had alot taken from me(my friend commited suicide and I was never the same) but I'd like you to know as much as we try to unpack the mystery of God, he has a curious way of making things work out and pull us out of a rut, if even slighty, when we hit our lowpoints. I can't tell you too much what to believe, I been struggling sometimes with that myself. What I can say is to keep trying. I'd advocate for Christianity or Advaita Vedanta if you are looking for some form of ego loss or inner peace, but that's just my cup of tea. Good luck friend.

>>43070317>i am so lost in my life,Matthew 11:28: "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." "For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost." Luke 19:10>and following jesus from the bibleSurrender yourself to Jesus Christ savior of every human soul that has existed, exists, and will exist.Don't ask of yourself to "pick a god an pray" hoping that it works. Study. Realize. Come to terms with the fact that perhaps his clues weren't the best for our modern times but people heed his word all the way back from the Moses era. The fact is that there is only one God, who gave humanity tangible proof of his doing via Jesus Christ of Nazareth, son of God, a man so widely documented and accepted as existing that his is the only true path to redemption. Followers, hundred, thousands of them that saw him in life and resurrected that happily vowed and died for they knew that the miracles he made in front of their eyes were true.Buddhism practices are somewhat similar. But realize that the endgoal of Buddhism is acquiring ego as the ultimate bettering of yourself through meditation. Matthew 6:5 and 6:7 warns us of this. The first step is to realize we are nothing without God. That he, is infinitely forgiving, and that everything in life is borrowed, from him specifically, including life itself. It's precious! It's magnificent. Look at his intelligent design, splashed everywhere across our universe. Live your life to the fullest, up until he decides it's your turn. Read the book of Job.Start approaching Catholicism. Investigate the shroud of Turin. Marian apparitions. Eucharistic miracles. The evidence is there for he who wants to believe. Then engage in conversation with fellow catholics. Go to mass. Life is great and good for so God decided so. I pray you find the calm you need. God gave it to me, as opposed to you, death mortifies me and makes me terribly afraid. But God is amazing. Realize this.
