This is a thread to talk about wicca, from gardenian wicca to the feri tradition and everything in between>what is wicca?wicca is a modern, earth-based, neo-pagan religion that focuses on reverence for nature, the cycles of the earth and moon, and the divine. Founded in the mid-20th century in England, most notably popularized by Gerald Gardner. it draws inspiration from ancient pre-Christian pagan traditions, folklore, and ceremonial magi>what lineages exist nowadays?>Alexandrian WiccaFounded by Alexander and Maxine Sanders in the 1960s. It shares a very similar structure and liturgy to Gardnerian Wicca (and the two often work closely together today), but incorporates a heavier dose of ceremonial magic, Qabalah, and places an equal theological emphasis on the God and Goddess>Blue Star WitchcraftFounded in the U.S. in the late 1970s, it draws heavily from Gardnerian roots but incorporates a distinct 5-degree system and a unique ritual flavor.>Dianic WiccaFocuses heavily on the Goddess and women's mysteries. While some Dianic branches are structured, many operate as feminist, non-hierarchical, consensus-driven circles. Some branches are inclusive of all genders, while others are women-only. >The Feri traditionThe Feri Tradition was developed primarily by Victor Anderson (1917–2001)—a blind poet, mystic, and shaman—and his wife Cora Anderson (1915–2008). Victor claimed to have been initiated into a traditional line of faery witchcraft as a boy in Oregon in the 1920s. Over the decades, the Andersons synthesized these early experiences with a wide array of esoteric systemsnot all these are direct descent of the gardenian wicca but they usually share a common theology/practice
>>43091203Interesting thread. I have three questions:>What are "women's mysteries"?>Can you elaborate more on the Feri tradition?>Are some wiccans witches?
>>43091227Not OP, but every Faeri tradition I have ran across is, uhh... "sit still and feel your sex and let your sex swell and flow through you and your sex your sexual energy your sex blah blah blah sex!"And yes, I am talking about Thorn Coyle.Faeri is really just Dianica wicca with theyfabs running it.Anyone talking about women's mysteries in wicca is full of shit, IMHO. They're radfem misandrists who also expect women and men to behave in very narrow ways, or the weird they/them bathtub masturbators every time.
>>43091227>What are "women's mysteries"? i don't recall writting anything about women mysteries. the dianic wicca though only worship the tripple goddess and probably undergo very somatic experiences, maybe related to sex magick>Can you elaborate more on the Feri tradition?the feri tradition is a non-gardenian wicca lineage based on the cult of different gods not related to the horned god or the triple goddess, being the main deities the star-goddess (who represents everything) and the twins (her offspring) and the blue god (ectasy). I like to denote that in contrast with gardenian wicca, feri tradition isn't a wicca based on fertility but ectasy and uses rather sexual innuendo to archive their work. they believe humans have three souls, the fetcher, the talker and the godself. i personally think these are three aspects of a same essence, but people may disagree with me. they also believe in faeries as natural beings and they comune with them >Are some wiccans witches?all those who practice wicca are witches, witches are not a racial virtue but a "job" or a title, though a lot of witches has fae ancestry, wich is also a very common thing in the feri traditionalso i need to say that i am not initiated in any of these lineages and everything i say comes from me recolecting information about it
>>43091252>they're radfem misandrists who also expect women and men to behave in very narrow ways, or the weird they/them bathtub masturbators every timeyes, mostly, thats why i enjoy approaching cernnunos more, because he is a god of life and expasion, though every lineage i founded about cernnunos like the brotherhood of cernnunos or the coven of the sacred stag or the minoan brotherhood are all for gay men, and relay much on sex magick. they let you know from the beginning. i don't feel bothered because i do feel atraction to both men and women but makes me think that most of these lineages are basically excuse to have gay sex instead of a serious coven. though i could be wrong
>>43091227>What are "women's mysteries"?The Rounwytha represents an intuitive, experiential understanding of life and nature, associated with certain women. Its essence cannot be reduced to a doctrine, a collection of rituals, or a publicly taught system of beliefs. It is something experienced and lived.Btw Wicca and witchcraft are not synonymous. Witchcraft encompasses numerous traditions, and a person does not need to be Wiccan to practise it.Nor does identifying as a witch necessarily mean one belongs to an older folk tradition.
>>43091325>but makes me think that most of these lineages are basically excuse to have gay sex instead of a serious covenYou're not. Wicca was made by Gerald Gardener specifically to get pussy. Not unlike Crowley, from whom he heavily lifted from, due to his involvement with him and the OTO, but it's a point that one should keep in mind.I'm not a Wiccan. They tend to reject people who acknowledge and partake the darker aspects of life anyways. But I think all of us of a certain age dove our noses into the little blue book at some point on our journey. I saw Faeri/Feri, a question about it, and had to immediately dunk on it. I love me some sex magic, but it's how I feed.Wicca is fertility cults all the way down.
>>43091252>HurrDurr it's all just sex blahblahblahWell, unless you were cloned in a lab ( not impossible), biologixal intercourse AKA the "friggery" is HOW YOUR EXISTENCE AND THE EXISTENCES Of 99% of other people whom both are and are not like you, CAME INTO BEING.The focus on procreative energies/sex magic is not delusional, the idea that people can harness even a modicum of their biological potential without starting with the basics ( again, quite literally what birds and bees do under and in flowers and trees) is probably why the great majority of first world people are delusionally detached from the biological/nature path reality of it all
>>43091385Sir, I partake in this sort of stuff freely. This is not something I am disconnected from. Again, it is how I feed, so to speak. It keeps me going.Just something about its particular practice, to me, is off. I dunno, these groups rub me the wrong way, and give me the ick. But I give these same groups the ick, and I can't understand exactly why either. I can't exactly describe it, it's something to experience.
>>43091333>Its essence cannot be reduced to a doctrine, a collection of rituals, or a publicly taught system of beliefs. It is something experienced and lived. It's a secret then.>>43091300Is wicca closely related to fairies?
>>43092064>is wicca closely related to fairies?i would say so yes, specially the feri tradition wich puts special emphasis on fae ancestry
>>43091227>>Can you elaborate more on the Feri tradition? An oregon hillbilly inspired by gardners writing kitbashed a bunch of shit together including academic hoaxes like "huna" and claimed to have been sexually initiated into a hoodoo type tradition by a black woman/priestess when the circus was in town as a child. He then used his creation to have a bunch of freaky sex with west coast hippies. It's an interesting system though having grown into a pretty unique thing as a result of victors habit of "remembering" being a priest of xyz in a past life based largely on whatever he was currently reading at the time.
Wicca is pretty cool. I have a physical copy of Buckland's Complete Guide to Witchcraft, which is based on the Alexandrian tradition. It was one of my gateways into occultism back when I was 16, along with a copy of Liber Null & Psychonaut by Peter J Carroll.
