Is there any actual old school occult traditions about willow trees granting wishes?
Did some snooping around the internet and it’s allegedly more of a new age thing than anything else.
Still I have this vague memory that there’s like a willow tree that grants wishes in some old fairy tale from when I was a kid. Specifically I thought it had to do with a nymph who transformed into the tree and it grew at the tip where two river meet.
Anyone remember this at all?

idk about your story but that sounds like a fusion of
Cybele and Attis / Daphne and Apollo / Hermaphroditus and Salmacis
There is also The https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/That_W%C4%81naka_Tree

But myths with a tree/pole/mountain/pillar surrounded by water
usually have to do with kabala and the divine feminine

The Wishing Willow/Weeping Willow.

A heart broken nymph that turned to a tree at the split of two rivers, torn by the love of her family and her love for a mortal. Unable to decide, she took her frustrations out on the world by becoming a tree cursed with her own poisoned undecided fate, so that any who asked of her wishes would be in some way torn apart by her sadness.

This is an Ancient Greek tragedy.

And we are about to enter it's second act.

>"For she didn't know, that her mortal would outlive them all, for her."

Its a story you got AI to make up
That is Cybele and Attis / Daphne and Apollo / Hermaphroditus and Salmacis
combined with Den lille havfrue (which is just a remix of Psyche and Eros)
mixed in with Awaiting Husband Stone mythos

There is also
