Earth would transform into a hellhole. It is much better to keep it absolutely top secret since there's nothing we can do about it anyways. It's obvious that we can't trust the narrative. For a period there were real concerns that it could hit Earth and then, magically, the chance of collision became 0%, odd isn't it?

Like a jellyfish the smallest change in conditions could completely wipe it out, so these conditions are carefully controlled. I think it has something to do with a certain group of flying saucers who disable nukes. Earth is a zoo and a farm overseen by a very powerful empire. They're not gonna let it die unless they're dead. This is a comforting thought, if you don't know who they are, what they allow, and what they do. If you did, the meteors they deflect would be preferable.
