Before outdoor championship races start there was an optional warmup race at Glen Helen call the 'Stopwatch Nationals' but usually the big teams do let their riders race out of fear they get hurt before the championship races start. Curt Nichols took the early lead and was passed by Barica on his Ducati. Barcia went down and took the lead and went down again later but still won the race. Looked good but no real competition. Barcia will likely place 6th-10th every race.
