Before outdoor championship races start there was an optional warmup race at Glen Helen call the 'Stopwatch Nationals' but usually the big teams do let their riders race out of fear they get hurt before the championship races start. Curt Nichols took the early lead and was passed by Barica on his Ducati. Barcia went down and took the lead and went down again later but still won the race. Looked good but no real competition. Barcia will likely place 6th-10th every race.

When Mike Alessi first turned pro he first skipped the 250s and went in to the 450 class. His motor exploded in the first 450 race so he DNF. The second race a week or two later he finished 3rd behind Ricky Carmichael and Kevin Windom, that is balls and ability. Deegen had all the racing experience in the 250 class and still sucked in the 450s. Jett is finding his pace and likely to be first or second from now on. Hunter likely to fold under pressure. The other 450 riders are not going to put up the Deegen shit like the kids in 250 class. Sandwichmaker straigt up took out Tomac because he did not want to get passes, what a doosh.

The track crew should have been more clear on the inside limit by setting more of those white markers. Its custom for all riders to run them over to develop a better line to the inside. Second moto Jeet got smoother, the 19 yo Coenern from Netherlands is really fast finishing second both motos. Hunter put a hard pass on Degen then dropped it. I was waiting for Degen to punt Hunter on the next pass but Hunter was taking another rest break.
